a little info please...

got a fella trying to sell a mini...1985 or so can't remeber the year....claims it has a 22rte...turbo in a 22re...really?...good motor?....i have never heard of the engine so i thought i would ask here....thanks in advance fellas

Yes, there is definitely such an engine. But they didn't offer them till '86, and only thru '87. Then the mighty 3.0L V6 replaced it.

If it really has the turbo motor and a 5-speed tranny, buy it. The tranny alone is worth a lot (~$800 or so), they are rare and highly sought after.

thank you klf....the young man wants 500.00 clams for it...i believe we will pull the trigger and aquire this rig....the truck has independent front suspension...if that helps identify the year..it is a true rust bucket and has been used to haul wood on a farm....thanks

I'd say they're worth $900- $1,000. but with all the publicity we're posting up, I'd say they won't be long at those prices.

Not a 1985 with turbo. Not 1985 if 4WD and IFS.

As said, 22RET was 1986-87.
IFS 4WD is 1986+.
