Wiring looks good. I’ll hire you to come down to Battle Ground and help me out in the coming months. My wife is Brazilian….. we can toss some meat on the smoker and talk automotive wiring technique.
That sounds like a good time!
I have a couple buddies from flight school that live in your neck of the woods!

Redarc got back to me and they gonna replace the DCDC charger for free. Quite the relief!
So I took it out the broken one and sent it back to them.
Yesterday I decided to just install the QPM without the charger, and Ill just put it back in once I get the new one

I cleaned up the wiring a bit today and put the trim piece back on
Not bad!

Drove over to the east side on Hwy 410

First time on a “long” drive since I got the Lutz speedometer thingy.
272.8 miles and burned 19.4 gallons. About 14mpg. On 35s. Over a mountain pass. Doenst seem correct 😂

Also, Im really considering news seats after this drive.

Overall the 80 did great, held 185F the whole time!

Almost done with the drawer system!

Just need to secure it to the main platform and get the drawer fronts done.
I gave up on the idea of carpeted door fronts. I have a bunch of white oak leftover from a project, I think it will be a good contrast with the brown carpet!
Redarc BCDC charger should be here tomorrow, so hopefully Ill get that done before the weekend too!

I decided to be a good person and use the torque values from the instructions, but I forgot to also use my brain. I misread it at some point and tried to torque a M5 bolt to 15ft/lb.

Some days I wonder if I should be allowed to work on any projects
😐😢
Last time I worked on the 80 I thought I'd do the same thing. Managed to snap a stud on my rear hub when doing my axle bearings, because either I had my old torque wrench misadjusted, or it just wasn't working. Either way I should have known I was making it too tight. But I'd been working for 6 hours at that point and was brain dead.

It happens to all of us at some point.

Good times huh?! 😂
Those long wrenching days are tough!
Ive messed up a knuckle job right at the end after working on it for awhile 😂

“Done”!

Im an effort to maximize space with the drawer under the fridge, I made it a smidge too big, and now with weight on it, it does drag on the 8020 😅😅
But, as of now, it is fully functional!
Also, installed the DCDC charger, but forgot to take a pic, so yall just gonna have to trust me on that one 😂

The other day as I was heading to work, I rolled the window down to badge myself into the parking lot and heard a “thud” and the window motor just kept running. Tried to rolled the window up and no joy.
It was fun pulling the door panel in uniform at 5:30am to force the window back up.
I havent had time to dig further to see what is going on, but Im already dreading it, I hate working on doors 😂

Could be a couple of things, possibly the regulator came off of the track that it runs on on the bottom of the window. When you opened it to push the window up was the metal bar still attached to the bottom of the glass?

Worst case that track came off the window, but in my experience that is more common with the rear window.

I believe you can still get regulators. I have replaced all the felt window runs in my 80. I don't enjoy messing with the windows. My drivers front is the only window I have that doesn't operate properly by itself. It always wants to rock forward rather than perfectly slide up and down, I have to help it at the end. I have no idea why. Not super high on my list of priorities though.

Thanks for the reply
I was in a bit of a rush but I believe the metal was still attached.

Im hoping Ill have some time today to go investigate it further.
I have all new runs and all other windows work fine, but the driver one is the only one I need 😂

Not sure what is going on
I took the motor out and it looks normal as far as I can tell. It is not a Toyota original motor tho.
It kinda sounds like the teeth on the regulator are not meshing with the gears of the motor.
With the motor out, it was VERY had to move the window down. So Im assuming it is something with the regulator assembly.

I got a little clip of it

Just got done installing a new Dorman regulator
Window works again!

Im thinking about attending Rubithon for the first time next year, and with that, the thought about getting lockers been on my mind a lot.
I dont have the skills or tools to do it myself, so Ive been shopping around for pre assembled 3rd members. Boy, they are more expensive than I thought.
And now Im also overthinking about regearing the diffs. I thought about 4.88s, since for what I read, works good with 35s and 37s. But then I kept thinking about a possible future LS/10 speed swap, and how then the 80 would be way overgeared.
Now Im suffering from paralysis by analysis 😂
What do you guys think?

dont dare bastardize that with chevy parts, 🧐
get a blower or turbo it if you have to
