Yes, the springs immediately flew everywhere when I pulled the core out initially. Didn't see anything like a spring cover. Tape would do the trick but the core is a super tight fit, so that probably wouldn't work.Oh, I see, you had 1 more disassembly step, the keyed core comes out of that housing with the springs popping out the top, you took the spring cover off.
Sounds pretty easy to make.Thats the housing, the core is the part the key goes in, it comes out as well. IIRC Toyota had used a small tin strip staked in place or just staked the top of hole to retain spring.
