BATs a bit of a schill site with moderators that omit/ never post critical commentary into the validity of sellers "claims" as to things like mileage/ original paint/ etc.

The Michigan based BaT seller's description says the current owner purchased it from a Florida dealer last year. Not sure how that squares with the February 2016 eBay sale from the Florida based seller.

When I first saw the eBay FJ40 rig posting, I figured the Florida based owner acquired it from Central America. The restoration is similar to what is parading around eBay via Central America procured rigs e.g., no heaters, non OEM hard tops.

I see more and more FJ40s getting snagged off of eBay only to be relisted for $10k more later.

I am suspicious of any Michigan Land Cruiser. Livonia is only a half hour from Mushrow in Gross Pointe.

this truck has been flipped at least 3 times in the last 5 months. It was for sale out of PA in January, and I could have bought it $14k on a deal I was working out with seller. The guy who bought it flipped on ebay, and now this. I think $14k is still about right.

From what the guy says in the commentary it didn't sell in ebay. $22.5 was bid but didn't make his reserve. So now he tries BaT.

It sold on eBay for $22,500 via the Florida dealer on 24 February. The Michigan guys claims he bought it then - and the rig back to Michigan placing 400 miles on it.

Hence my earlier post of the complex twist of stories connected to the vehicle's foster child like travels.
