Theoretically speaking, what would be the smartest way to get a Cruiser to CO from FL without driving it? The auto train from Amtrak only runs from VA to FL. Put it on a truck?
If I go, I'd be doing the same thing, but in reverse. Drive out, get scheduled with @Riverrunner to run the truck home, drop off in Denver for delivery to Central FL somewhere, fly home from Denver.

We can’t wait! My girls are 6 & 7 years old and they had so much fun last year that they keep telling me “daddy don’t forget to register for HIH on Sunday”. I don’t even think they really know what that means.

Second’ed! Clear lake with @marcfj60 is definitely the way to start.
I'm starting to think people like my useless facts that I talk about while we are on the trail, like how to tell the difference between Cow Parsnip and Hemlock and my general advice to just leave them both alone.

I really want to go! I’m on a flight a Sunday evening but should land in just enough time to register.

I’m gonna admit I’m a bit intimidated. While I’ve been on this forum for about a year, I don’t know anyone going in real life. I feel like I’m showing up to a party where everyone knows everyone. I’m a novice with my 100. I know any cruiser owner I meet in public is super cool but it’s just a big commitment to drive 800 miles and take a week vacation with strangers. Anyone in the same boat, or better yet, was last year and can speak to that?
We were all in the same boat at some point in time. I would encourage you to find a local Toyota Club or TLCA chapter and get out with them a couple times if you can to get a little more confidence. As far as showing up to HIH without knowing anyone, don't sweat it. There are lots of friendly people to meet. I've made friends with every campsite neighbor every year that we've attended (3,5,7 and 8). And if it turns out you don't like any of us, there is still so much to see and do in and around Silverton that you won't be bored (unless you like big city shopping).

Alright, you guys did a good job making me feel welcome. I’m in! Now it’s all about registering on time :)

Any fly fisherman want to catch a few with me that week?
I'm in for the fly fishing. I've had reasonable success in a few places around Silverton and I plan to arrive early and scout out some fishing waters. If you go on the Clear Lake run, there is some down time at lunch to try to catch Brookies and Tiger Trout. They're all small but still fun.

@bluecruiser
For what is worth, the second timer on the website is still off.

I've never been fly fishing before, but I'd really love to give it a try! Anyone up for showing a beginner how its done?

I also have limited fly fishing experience. We only go maybe 8-10 times a year in the fall for steelhead flyfishing.

Last year we caught maybe 10 rainbow trout in like an hour using just regular fishing rods, (bobber,hook, and sinker) and some nightcrawlers. Didn't even think of bringing the fly rods but did just fine without them!

Does anyone know if the registration is transferable? If someone buys a spot and finds out they cannot make it later, can they give or sell (not for profit) their spot to someone else?

Don't believe so, but registration is refundable up to certain date and your spot would be made available to the next person on the waitlist.
