94 4Runner Rear Coilovers Build

my 4runner is under the knife....... will be finished by Friday!!!!!!

3-Link with Fox 2.0 16" Coilover Shocks with King Coils

Fox Coilovers -- (2) 2.0 16" Travel
King Coils -- (4) 16" 250#
Lowers -- 1.5x1/4" DOM Sleeved 1.75x1/8" DOM, Currie 2.5" adjustable Joints
Upper -- 1.75x1/8" DOM, Currie 2.5" adjustable Joint & 2 RE SuperFlex Joints
Lowers X-Member -- 2x4x1/4"
Upper X-Member -- 2x3x1/4" ----> might change
Axle Bridge -- 2x2x1/4"
Tabs & Brackets -- atleast 1/4"

Wheel Base increased in the rear by 3"

I am cutting out the rear cargo area to mount the Coilovers and trying to leave the rear seats.....

not much going on here just some mockup......... but some pics anyway.

anyone know howmuch the coilover will compress with the weight of the vehicle? i am sure it depends on the spring rate.. but how much up-travel should there be compared to down-travel 30%up to 70%down???

well he got a little carried away with the axle brace...... the back will be cut off maybe i will keep the part around the diff but the rest has go to go

although i told him many times that the joint had to be mounted vertically he still put it hortizontal which will have to change.

a couple of problems i see with that rear brace..

1. i now cant fill the diff
2. i dont know where the diff breather is now or even capped off
3. the joint is not vertical like i stated many times

ive learned the hard way, you want it done right, you do it yourself ..
or buy it, I realy like the BTF truss kit

its got a spot for the breather and fill plug..

. will be finished by Friday!!!!!!

these type of projects take time! dont rush thru it, and it will be sweet when its all finished

that thing is sweet..... $300 isnt too bad and it could be adapted for a 3-Link

more progress...........

the mounting point for the 3rd link is being redone......

what do you think about how low the x-member hangs down???? its about as low as the t-case but looks like a good place for rocks to stop my progress. it can go up about 4". I think its a little low but could be usefull for a nice x-member for dual cases

i got my truck from the fab guy....... he couldnt get the clearance issues.....

i bought a bender so i am gonna redo everything he did

You do not need that brace across the back diff.
Get rid of that frame cross brace for your lower links you only need mounts on the frame.
you will hang up on the rear and the cross member.
Are your links at the frame area at the same bend point as your ujoint at the transfer case.
And your upper link needs to be at the same point as lowers to stop your rear steer.
we have done a lot of testing of different links. Just wanting to keep you from spending 100's of dollars
