i'm about done with my driveshafts that includes cleaning each part, degreasing, scrubbing, painting and then putting in new joints in the time it has taken you guys to figure out what to do..
i have NEVER killed a u joint except wore one out in the front of my 80.. worn.. not killed.. GMB says made in Japan.. my toyota ones i had were made in japan and i didn't see a difference in the 2.. my precision said GMB .. i'm tired of paying extra for the same thing.. so.. in the words of Brad pitt.. Just tell me what's in the box..
cause i'm gonna try my $ savings for now.. it's one shaft. cause i put toyota in the other.. I'll mark em and see what goes first! :)

From another posting.....

I found these two companies that make driveline components and are part of or related to the Toyota group:

KYOWA KOGYO CO., LTD.

JTEKT CORPORATION - Propeller Shafts

It looks like the OEM ujoints may be supplied by one of these companies. There is probably no way to buy direct from them.

GMB is not listed as part of the Toyota group. So they don't make the OEM ujoints.

replaced a steering column U-joint yesterday.. ordered yet another USA brand (moog i think package is on the floor in garage) .. which had a GMB in the box.. interesting cause the toyota one was not greasable.. and the gmb one was.. same u joint that is and will b used on the toyota pto driveshaft later..
