let me know what's in the precision box.. Just curious.. cause i ordered GMB's for about $8 each.. I know that spare precision i had on the shelf cost way more than that! and it had a freakin GMB in it.. Kinda like finding aisin in a napa box etc..
If you need help.. holler.. i'll prob do a driveshaft tonight.. it's not super difficult and i have a cold so gotta keep it simple tonight.. gives me a chance to clean stuff up really well too..
will prob swing by harbor freight and pick up a spare 7" cutting wheel on the way home.

Timed the second end. Took ten min to get it stripped and that included breaking a blade on the grinder.

That's kinda crazy. That part number 389 is for the rear on my 80. The Moog/Precision is $31.99, but the same GMB for the rear is $46.14 on Advance...
 
Bigger size: $8 for GMB GMB Part # 2200020 on rock auto and $21 MOOG/PRECISION Part # 389 on rock auto..
smaller size $5 GMB Part # 2200021 Front Shaft All Joints, and $14 MOOG/PRECISION Part # 387 on rock auto..
so.. with the advance price.. you can buy 4 ujoints and have them shipped sales tax free or go buy one local..

I buy a lot online. figure i can pre-order by a few days as long as it arrives by the weekend.. If it's emergent. that's one thing and a reason to pay 4x the normal costs.. but brick and mortar just charge WAY too much.. ROck auto takes about as long as amazon prime to arrive at my door.. and i am slowly making a collage of magnets on my water heater.. just make sure it's exactly what you need.. returns are a bit harder :)
 
Yep, Kelly and I checked on Friday evening. I think amazon had one of the u joints for like $12.99, but only 1 in stock with that vendor. The others were priced a little higher.

Hey Kelly. We can either go in together on the Advance Auto Moog rears part# 389. Grandview store has in stock so I can pickup. $31.99 a piece, but after 35% off, $89.80 after tax, or $22.45 a piece. Then I would just get the front's I need at O'Reilly in Olathe.

Erik found the part number for the matching part with GMB (for our rears), and they are only $8 a piece on Rock Auto.

Do you prefer the Moogs over the cheaper GMB's (Part number 2200021), or do you prefer the cost savings?
 
RockAuto has them for $120 for 4 of the 389 and 2 of the 287 shipped, that is about $21 each for the 389 and $17 for the fronts.

Seems simpler and cheaper (no shipping) to order from there.

Oh, and the GMB's are like $4 each at Rock. I like MOOG quality, and willing to pay for it for peace of mind.

If GMB's are in the box, I will be returning them.
 
Copy that. I'll follow in that fashion then. Let me check to make sure they still have 4 in the Grandview store, and I'll get them ordered up and paid for online, if that works for you.
 
Wait a sec...order from Rock Auto or Advance? I was going to pull trigger on Advance if I understand correctly.
 
I think I just confused myself...okay, so free shipping from Rock Auto, so order from there correct?
