As we close in on the “go date” I would like to once again mention the sponsors that helped make this year’s event a possibility.

We have found the problem and those responsible have been sacked ... we apologize for the inconvenience ...I am getting reports that "the site is down" for registration. If you are finding this, please send me a DM. I am monitoring both the off-roadcomms.com site and eventbrite and I am not seeing glitches. Accommodation as well, right? Do I need to reserve a campsite in advance, or can I play it by ear once I get there?THINGS YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ……
1) Park permits you both you and your passengers if applicable (can be sourced online).
2) Snacks and beverages while on the trails (all evening meals are provided).
3) A mechanically sound vehicle. (Top your tank / tanks off).![]()
I would highly recommend booking early. There are also a number of hotels in nearby Oak Ridge (about 12 minutes from the park).Accommodation as well, right? Do I need to reserve a campsite in advance, or can I play it by ear once I get there?
Part of the problem with GMRS is that it is very popular (not a bad problem to have ). The ease to obtain a license and the fact that the license covers the whole familiar and is inexpensive plays a large role in the platforms popularity. At a location like Windrock there may be a lot of other groups also using GMRS and you’ll most likely find it necessary to change frequencies a few times during the day to avoid ”cross-traffic”. Hopefully that sheds some light on your question.Question, I have limited to no experience with the GMRS but will we have a specific station // frequency? thinking on turning it on when im close to say hi to those already there!
We will be there early on Thursday so maybe someone wants to do some light trails with us.
Saludos,
looking great Charles - is that the Buc-ees before MACON, GA?? I’ll probably stop there on the way.
