I'm chasing an intermittent seemingly random drop in power in my FJ62. It will happen a couple of times in a trip. It's like it loses power or stutters or something for just enough time to make me think it's going to die, then it comes back to life and is fine again - all told it's 1-2 seconds. It doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason - sometimes when accelerating, sometimes at a steady speed.
After searching some threads in this forum I think I found the fuel pump connector (hope this is right, it is under the jack bracket right behind the rear wheel well on the drivers side)

. It looked fine, I gave it some dielectric grease and put it back together.
Suggestions of where to check next? I have a fuel pressure gauge but haven't used it yet because the problem hasn't occurred while idling.
TIA,

Yes, that is the connector
2 wires for the gauge and 2 wires for the pump

but that looks in nice shape, usually it will be green when bad

When was the last time it had a full tune-up? including:
  • Valve adjustment
  • Timing
  • Spark plugs/wires
  • Air filter
  • Fuel filter
  • Etc.
Intermittent hesitation could be a loose connection, but it could also be any number of things, including a vacuum leak or sticky injector. Doing a full tune-up will at least eliminate some of the variables.

That's a fair point, it has been a while on most of those. Is there a good video on setting timing? I have the FSM, and I think I understand how to adjust the valves, but setting the timing is not something that I have done. When we got this wagon I had the valve adjustment set at a shop, but that was about 25k miles and 6 years ago. I'm currently at 295k miles.
I have recently replaced the fusible link with one of the DIY kits from Cruiser cult, that cleared up some random symptoms.
This is a pretty good video I found that shows valve adjustment.
