^Got an engine in my place right now with the leftover parts of 2 fuel pump arms in the oil pan.
I thought it depended on the pump used.^
Everyone, these are the types of things that happen when a "mechanic" decides to cut corners. Never install a mechanical fuel pump into a 2F without that spacer!
Darin, which motor was that, not out of your 87. How many donor 2Fs do you have laying around?

I'll post the thickness later - I've got both of those spacers, in the plastic... Trick will be finding them.
But IIRC, I bought them both to check exactly that, and the only difference I could tell was a slightly different shape.
Measurements and pix to follow.

Jim C. has stated, in a different thread, there was a change in FP geometry when the 3F block was introduced 10/84, but if that translates into spacer thickness I dunno. I've compared used spacers off 2F and 3F blocks and I don't remember there being any thickness difference, but who knows what was replaced along the way.
Is this for the engine in the Great Gazoo ?
Not the issue being discussed but thanks anyway. If the spacer/isulator is stuck to the block and you want to take it off. First get your replacement spacer.
The backelite plastic normally breaks in the process of taking it off. I would just leave it in place and put a new paper gasket between the pump and the spacer.
