I've been trying to find an 86 FSM for my 4Runner, it seems the 86 is a bit hard to find, all I've been able to locate are the 85's and 88's, they are a bit different then the 86, I'm looking for a downloadable version.

I have an 85 and what I think is an 88, however they are different, SFA vs IFS, and wiring.
I would think an 87 would be more or less the same as an 86 but, yes, I can see where 85 and 88 would have some differences (especially 85 obviously).

Differences from the 85 to 86-87 are small but when it come to wiring, 86 has a starter relay where an 85 does not, small is HUGE, and an 85 FSM is usless when it comes to my IFS...everyntime I see the SFA barenfields of the 85 FSM it brings back memories of rebulding my FJ40 front axel.
If anyone has an electronic copy of an 86 or 87 FSM for a 4Runner/Truck that they are willing to share PLEASE send me a PM.

The FSM has the wiring diagrams included at the back for these years (at least it does for 85 and I'm pretty sure I've heard that it does for all the first gens).
I have printed FSMs for '84, '85, '86, '88, '92, and '94 trucks. They all have wiring diagrams in the back.
I also have separate wiring manuals for '88 and '92, they are very useful. Same info, but presented differently. They show where every connector, ground point, etc is located, and what each connector looks like.
Funny that both my son and I have '87 trucks, yet we don't have an FSM for that year.

Yeah I know the wiring diagrams are in the back of the FSM, I was just commenting on how I use the 85 FSM for engine related tasks and electrical diagrams from an 87 FSM, the wiring diagrams I downloaded from a site like this one. I REALLY NEED/WANT the correct FAM or my year truck.

This is NOT about wiring diagrams, it's about wanting the CORRECT FSM for my year truck. Yes I do agree with the previous post, however.....an 85 FSM is not very useful to someone such as myself that has an IFS truck and a slightly different wiring system.
