Hi, I have a 85 4X4 22rec EFI, project rig that I just put a brand new long block in. It's been quite a project to say the least. So I am to the point of initial start up and it has no spark. Coil is getting 12v and ohm checked within spec. .010 gap in ignition mag in distributor. there is no pulse on the neg side of coil. I am not sure if it could be a wiring harness issue, a ignition module problem, or possibly a ECU issue? How do I accurately diagnose which it could be. I have already spent over 3g on the motor swap so you can imagine why I dont want to spend any more fun tickets I dont have to.

You do realize that you started this thread at 2:12 AM (EST)? The majority of the users on this site were probably asleep by then, and will be awhile before they will have time to check MUD for new traffic. I can sympathize with your frustration (I was there last week) but you really need to be more patient.

Do you perhaps have another truck that you can swap some parts from? Checking electrical gremlins like this can be very tedious.

Do you have a Factory Service Manual?

Have you checked for any codes in the ECU?

How have you determined you don't have spark? Have you grounded a sparkplug to see if it arcs when you turn the key? My guess is, since this is a new installation of an EFI engine, that something else is not hooked up. For instance, if your AFM is not hooked up you won't get a signal to the fuel pump. First, prove you don't have spark. There are lots of connections with a 22RE and they all need to be in place. Also, a bad dizzy cap will kill the truck. Also, check your fuses, both the IGN and the EFI fuse.

Have you checked for any codes in the ECU?

A good place to start.

A factory service manual will be your best friend. Search, digital versions are available.

Well, I guess maybe I may have came to the wrong site? Sorry

And what KLF said. You posted at midnight, and you expected an answer within two hours. Get real buddy. If you really need that kind of instant gratification, then you have come to the wrong site. We have a deep knowledge base with this group, and we will bust a gut to get you running. But, you need to be reasonable with your expectations.
