84-89 4Runner rear sliding window "goo"?

    It's complicated....
    The side windows are goo'd in with some type of non-hardening black stuff that's still nasty after 25 years.... Anyone know what it is, and where it can be found? Thanks! :cheers:

    It specifies butyl tape in the 1985 FSM. Could that be your "goo"?

    It is probably butyl or what they call a soft kit. It was used on older vehicles to secure the windshields in place as well as provide a weather barrier for the other glass. you can get it at automotive specialty shops or your local glass shop; it comes in a roll. You"ll need one per side.
