Im in the process of adding power steering. Is there a link that has a list of the items needed?
Its an 82 22r from the factory without PS.. am rebuilding motor and getting the marlin crawler 4:70:1 tcase so am close to driving for some real fun!

Pump
Pump bracket
Steering box meant for PS
PS reservoir
Cooler that sits behind the grill
Hose from box to pump
Hoses from reservoir to pump and cooler
The other hose for the box that I can't remember where it goes, the two steering box hoses are threaded while the other misc. hoses just need to be for atf

If you are going through all this work I would do an IFS steering box and go cross-over. Push-pull factory steering sucks.

I recently did this mod on my 1981 22r. Trail gear sells a pretty complete kit that makes it easier. The hardest parts to source were the pulleys and bracket for the PS pump. I got them from the dealership and it was expensive. If you go this route, we ended up using an '84 parts diagram to order the parts. I don't have the pics on my phone, but I posted pics with part numbers in my build about 1/2 way down on pg 2 (see link below).

1981 Pick-up Build

Agree with the above posts on IFS box and crossover. If you can pull it together, this is one of the best mods I've done to my truck.

There are differences between engine years, my '84 22r pump "fit" on my 89 22re but you couldn't get the disturber on

The TG kit came with a new pump and pump bracket that worked with my distributor. He is probably going to need the pulleys and pulley brackets to run the pump which I sourced from an '84 22r.

Here are the diagrams:
