Luckily I got mine a few months ago. Unlike full fledge businesses, you can't count on small one man outfits to be around for ever.:frown:

I hear you. I was going to order these last January...I got the seat foam from C-Dan and was ready to go. My kids are 8, 6 and 4...so I thought I'd be smarter to wait one more year so as not to let the new leather get ruined.

I've seen a lot of these home businesses come and go, but Shane's looked to have staying power and I saw him standing behind his product.

Oh well, live and learn...

Maybe I'll go down to Houston and just wap my interior out with Jim's...on the sly.:flipoff2:

I love the rumor mill......:flipoff2:

When I am ready to come out of my cave and post daily I will.....But still doing leather. Sold 6 or 7 kits this month from mud members....

Back to my cave...

Shane

Great job on the recover... that looks like factory. Want to fly to SF and do mine? ;)

AATLAS1X-Any chance in setting up a group buy to get some additional discounting. My driver seat is wasted and the passenger side is in pretty good condition. My mid/rears are about mint. I could swallow having the fronts redone but finances are tight.

We are flying to SF on the 18th for 3 days of celebrating sweetie's 40th b-day. From SFO we are headed to the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental to imbibe unabated the first night. Then we are headed up to Sonoma. If you are anywhere on that route I will gladly stop by and do your first hogring. You are on your own from there....

I think he will sell you just the front seat covers if you check out his thread here. Go price a set from Toyota and then you'll quickly see that at Shane's prices, you are more than getting the "group buy" price.

elmariachi, you have no doubt completed the most difficult back-yard job that the 80 has to offer.

Last week I was going to "wip" off my driverside lower cover and take it in to have 3"s of seam restitched.....har de har har.

after 2 hours of fighting with that 70lb robot, in and out of the truck (finally hooked up a power supply on my bench to adjust the seat) and had only got half way (the "easy half") with 20 hog rings out and the worst part to go I gave up and stitched it myself with some 50lb tuff line off my baitcaster.

Warning: these are not chevy bench seats.

Did you completely dissasemble the front seats?
I agree with you and would easily prefer any drivline job.......at least you recognize the pieces.

:beer::beer::beer::beer: to you buddy.

Woohooo! I am thinking of ordering ASAP...hey, did you start this rumor to drum up emotional buying upon your rerturn?:D

Here are mine installed. I had a local guy install them for $300. I have the 1" spacer and went with a two tone grey instead of factory original color. Shane IS a stand up guy, he personally delivered these to me! Thanks Shane.

Those look gear. I like the cupholder, too.

I removed the 4 bolts that hold the lower cushion in place. I recovered the backs without further disassembly of the seat system. As I mentioned, the front row backs are simple, 10 minutes each. I sure like the way my looks, smells, sits and drives. :grinpimp::grinpimp:

Had mine done by a local guy in Atlanta for 400.00. Got new shift knob from Ralph Haynes Toyota in SC. 171.00.

I think I was the 1st one to get a set from Katzkin and did the install solo. 40th ann 2 tone leather style...

any idea where the cup holder came from in post #28?

I never noticed that. I looks factory. Must be Lexus 450.

It's not factory for an LX. They have a subwoofer in that location. I'd rather have a cupholder though!
