I don't post on here much, but I had to share...
Unfortunately, she lives no more....I rolled her last Thursday (don't worry, I walked away w/o a scratch). Thanks to her sturdy build I wasn't injured, but she's looking like a total. I had someone try to make a left hand turn across the highway into town (60mph speed limit). The driver apparently didn't see me coming around the bend and panicked once he did and just stopped in the middle of the road (he got cited by the highway patrol that showed up). In order to avoid a head on collision, I tried swerving around him to the right, but hit the gravel shoulder and then did a half circle skid around him to the other shoulder, where I ultimately rolled and came to a stop behind him. I'm glad to have walked away from it, and that no one else was injured, but still majorly bummed about the truck.....My original post is from when I lived in Oregon, but I've lived out in Montana for the past 2 years. She really shined out here during the winters and on the local BLM trails, she'll be missed!

Glad to know you are okay. It's time to look for a replacement.

Well, I will reintroduce myself here. Finally back into an 80 series after I sold mine at the start of the pandemic. Lost a whole pile of money on that deal. Ended up selling it for $6200.

BUT! I ended up snagging this cherry 1994 for $2500. Currently waiting on some transmission solenoids so I can see if thats the cause for the lack of 2nd gear. After thats fixed shes gonna be getting a laundry list of upgrades.

1. Year and model: 94 FZJ80
2. Name of owner: Billy
3. Name of rig: TBD
4. Mileage: 435K
5. Mods...if any: Appears to be a Trail gear front bumper *barf* with smittybilt 12k winch, Not sure about the rear bumper but its real nice, Some 17" fuel wheels and 3 differrent branded 265 tires.
6. How the truck is used: Entirely a play car, current plans include 5.29's, air lockers, some slinky suspension (still brushing up on my dude @GW Nugget holy grail of suspension thread) maybe 40's but have to might settle with 37's to start, sliders, rear tire carrier, try to make the front bumper a bit more presentable or fabricate a new one similar to my old 80.

when the motor finally goes the real build starts, tons, LS, 42's, links, coilovers, the works, but thats down the road a ways.

3. Name of rig: Ol'Bula

5. Mods + maintenance: Dobinsons stock height springs + shocks, homebuilt rear cubby + sleep platform. Head gasket and refreshed head by Tor Fab
6. How the truck is used: For the last year, as a daily driver, truck, road trip vehicle, camper and project. I'm currently catching up on much needed maintenance and fixing gremlins. Once that's finished, I'll be slowly modifying it, as life allows, and looking to get out on longer trips/drives with other people in the PNW. I also have some experience turning a wrench and am always up for helping with car work or mods.

Glad you're okay. Gotta say, the rig (or what I can see of it) doesn't look that bad...

5. Mods - OME 2in lift with 33in tires. That's it!
6. Western Colorado including Flat Tops, Imogene between Ouray and Telluride, BLM trails for Turkey Hunting and many others

I paid $9k in April for this beauty and immediately did: EGR system rebuild, valve cover gasket, coolant and heater hose and thermostat replacement, alternator, starter, rotor plugs and wires, axle grease, front pads, front rotors pads and bearing pack LOTS of sanding and spray paint.

I'm curious, does anyone REALLY use their winch or rock sliders???

Spotted this awesome rig during a roadtrip from IN to UT a couple weeks ago. I didn't notice the IH8MUD bumper sticker until sorting and reviewing photos after I returned home.

Good day to you all, i just bought my self 1997 lx450 triple locker (just found out what it means)
guy sold it because mechanics scared him by saying that it needs new transmission because radiator exploded, and wanted to buy it from him,
i was nice enough to take it off his hands (we work at same company so he will see it) PO had it since 2004, car got little bit neglected and needs some major TLC but i like challenges
has 300k+ miles on it
mods: flexible liftgate, battle scars from 2 deer encounters, Ripped seat and trashed interior mod, and Major mod is undercarriege rust coat
