Can't you run 100 rotors? I understand it is an upgrade. Slotted.....never run them on anything

pads, not rotors (rotors would be 5 lug on hunnerd). Only for the front. but if you do the hunnerd pad upgrade, it's best to start with fresh rotors since the pads will cover more surface area.
I did it and loved it.

100 series pads on an 80 give you a longer pad life. They do NOT improve brake performance. I order a set of slotted rotors like the ones offered from Slee and a set of Ebc green stuff pads. I'll be playing guinea pig. Got the slotted only not crossdrilled. My experience with crossdrilled off-road is the holes fill up with mud.

Tell that to my right foot.
I actually swapped factory hunnerd pads and 80 rotors in replace of the green pads and slotted rotors. Huge difference. Of course, i think the slotted rotors were cheap, but the pads were not.
The hunnerd pads give alot more contact than the 80 pads. Why do you say it's not an improvement?

Improvement in pad life. Greater surface area on the pad to rotor is increased but better braking power is not due to the fact that the surface area of the rotor stays the same. With slots gases are vented through the slots. I figured this would happen. Mods delete before it turns into 2 pages of Oem vs. Aftermarket. I'll keep. my thoughts to myself unless they use Oem parts.

I believe Rob's question was "has anyone run slotted rotors". not what is the difference between aftermarket and 100s.

I have not run slotted or drilled rotors. It should be an upgrade and should get more life out of the pads. slots should keep the pads cooler extending pad life.

I would like to hear from Rob after he has done this upgrade. Keep us posted on what you think of the slotted rotors and EBC pads.

did you decide to keep the taco on 38 boggers?

i get my fair share of stuff from oreilly's and advanced. It's not the OEM debate. it's the size of the pads.

edit: and FYI.... the hunnerd pads and 80 rotors were from Autozone... not OEM

And my experience with said setup doesn't mean s***? Fine. i'll stop posting facts.
Jeebus. It's in black and white in the 80-series forum. No need in covering it here.

After brake replacement is done I'll post up my thoughts. The taco on boggers is for sale. Pics should be up on web today.

I do think with rob's wot the slots and ebc pads will work..

Let's all be honest we make the brakes stop more lbs than they should and they were suspect at best from get go.

oh so sensitive ..

The plan for this thread is to ask what our cottonlanders or other people that we know or are more familiar with, what they have done with their rigs and what their experiences have been.

I definitely don't mind your 2 cents, but I was just clarifying what Rob was asking ..that is all. ;)

I don't know about you guys but i get a little tired when some joe will start some shunt and the thread is completely derailed.

I wouldn't mind some of the good content to be posted here, should i say highlights, from the main 80 section without all the BS. I trust Cottonlanders and the of the other group members we wheel with as well ( basically people we've met vs complete strangers) experiences more.

Not trying to be an arse, I know you guys can be sensitive so I hope this comes out to your liking :)

here we go....

Really?! YOU wrote this!!??!!

I did too. But the above scenario had me scrambling for an hour trying to figure out how people run their lo-pinion difs upside down! LAWL!
Cause SOMEONE told me they were POSITIVE... more than once....

I still believe you can, whether you should is a debate in itself.

but its not what rockape did on his rear steer yota axle on the honda powered 1seat buggy
. Visualizing buikding that axle made my brain do a flip.

Do you want to go into why that conversation came up ;)

thats definitely more 80 related than the 1seat buggy...

I run 100-series OEM pads on the front with Slee cross-drilled and slotted rotors, on the rear I run Slee cross-drilled and slotted rotors with Duramax Gold CMax 80-series pads. I also run the Slee stainless brake lines.

I firmly believe my braking performance increased with the 100-series pads and the Slee cross-drilled and slotted rotors. I think you guys know how weak my legs were after the accident and I never had an issue slowing my truck down and my truck is heavy.

None the less, in regards to the holes in the rotors, I just pressure wash them after wheeling from the front and rear and I haven't had an issue yet.

I highly recommend the setup. I swapped the rear 80-series pads for the Duramax Gold CMax pads and haven't noticed a difference.

there you go... all-the-time talking about secrets you know...
Bossman knows too! Hellokitty, I might as well make it known since a handful of other folks know too... But I don't want folks telling me how they'd do it... fact of the matter is... they ain't doing it. Most people can't even visualize my odd way of doing things, some can't even picture it when given to them in a picture.
So there it is: a summer project for Lorena. Oh rats... I never said what it was did I?

Best of both worlds there!
