Hahaha true that. Thanks for the mud ship. Doing gods work

Nice! I was under the impression the slee one was reusable?

It is to a point. Slee's is made from aluminum which is fine if your only doing a few sets but after a while it will wear out. The one at the shop is almost unrecognizable. Have had a few that required 20+ tons to get to budge. There is a redneck way of replacing them if you can't get it to move in a press but that tidbit has a $. If for what ever reason you can't find the tool or can't get them out let me know. I have a set of arms at the shop that I will press a set of caster bushings in for a nominal fee and send them to you via the Grogan express. Then all you will have to do is send the arms you take off and your new unmolested bushings back with Grogan. Contact @wct49 if you decide to go this route.

@offr0adlim0 do you have a set of bushings handy? My bushings and springs haven't come in the mail yet. I'm expecting them sometime this week

Anyone have a slee bushing press tool they can rent me? I'll pay shipping both ways and throw you some bucks through PayPal for the rental.

I've got to do this job also. Any reason not to just find the right size socket and use the HF Ball Joint Press tool with an impact just like I would any other bushing. I do want to get the job done and not have to sling it all back together and order one of these.

Getting the old bushing out isn't the problem it's pressing the new bushing in straight and in the proper location

I just ordered the tool that rob sent the link for as piece of mind. I have had to do what you are describing too many times lol.

Why not just go for the best and skip the bushing hassle? They are worth the $

YUP. The Slee arms on my 80 were one of the best mods every.

They certainly were loved, and will continue to be if I can find a minute to get the axle rebuild wrapped up. :)

What is the benefit of the slee arms over factory?

They have built in caster and they go from the most bulletproof thing on a 80 to bombproof craziness.

(Just get the bushings)

I think the slee LCAs would over correct my castor. Theyre set up for 4 or 6 inches of lift and im working with 2-3. eventually Ill do the slee lift when the 80 isnt my daily and will totally go with it. those things are sweeeet

After a new set of 555 tie rod ends, new ome steering stabilizer and bilstein 5100s the frontend of my 80 feels right again. Waiting on OME to send front and rear springs and Ill be doing the rear shocks. Its nice to not be driving on a busted shock anymore. I do say that the Bilsteins look funny with the yellow TJM springs but you cant see em unless you get up under it. Once these springs get here it should feel like a whole new truck.
