15K for that body? Looks like I'm out. Damn!

I'm looking for the front diff gasket for an e-locker to use as a template on a non-locker housing for the drill and tap mods. Anyone have one? Really a photocopy of one would work fine, or I'd buy the whole gasket. Any ideas on where to get one? Going to call local dealer tomorrow to see if they have one in stock.

Realize this is from a ways back and that you probably already found what you were looking for, but I came across this and remembered your posting:

Just thought I'd add it here for future reference.

Not needed for most of the trip last time but we did get into some rocks in the glacial moraine where the ice had receded through the years leaving large boulder fields behind. Really, it was just a matter of having to fix the t-case issue and I got caught up in the " might as well" of it all.

Sorry, no new pics today. It has been a productive day working on small detail items.

I beefed up and modified the transmission cross member where the front driveshaft was hitting it, made some spacers to drop the trans mount by either 1/4" or 3/8" to resolve the issue with the various linkages hitting the floor pan, did a little massaging of the floor pan with a BFH for a little more clearance, and modified the $20 H42 shifter to work with the H55f rather than spend another $200 for a new one :) .

I discovered the rear pinion seal is leaking and I think I have a u-joint to replace while the shafts are out. Paint is drying on the small parts and I still have to patch a small hole in the floor but hope to have that all done tomorrow and be ready to stab the new trans on Thursday evening.

So, are you putting an H55 and Orion in that 80 you got from E? Is it a 3FE truck?

Sorta. I'm putting in a new H55f and a custom 4:1 split case built by our very own skunkworks out in Stockton, CA (thanks Georg). It's a 3FE truck for now. It will eventually get some sort of diesel thus the overdrive choice.
