What you pictured is 872116003. That one is a fairly common part used. 8721160160 is the duct used with A/C, long out of production and very hard to find. If your looking for the one used with factory A/C believe it's available aftermarket. Need one of those myself.

I got the photo from a Toyota ad. Not the best depiction. My ‘78 FJ40 never had AC, but I believe you are right that it was configured for AC equipped 40’s.

Curious how you came up with the part number? You are right 1/79 was when the A/C became a option in the FJ40. The non A/C heater goes back to 9/73 and stayed the same until the end of the 40 series.
