I'm using Coolerman's adaptor harness for installing an internally regulated alternator from a later vehicle into my '77. I had the alternator checked at the local Orileys to make sure it was charging.
I've triple-checked the tie-in of the adaptor harness to the factory harness. per Coolerman's instructions.
I have 12.3V across the battery with key off.
No volts at the alt IG terminal with the key off. !2.1V with the key on.
At idle the voltage at the battery is still 12.3. At 2K RPM the voltage is still 12.3 at battery and also at the alt terminal B.
The yellow wire from Coolerman's harness (terminal "L" used for a charging light?) has 12.3V at idle but increases to 13.7V at 2K RPM

Why is voltage increasing with RPM on terminal "L" but not on terminal "B"?

thanks for any help on this.

Sounds like they're the wrong way around.
Do you have a light or a diode?
Btw: it looks like your white-blue wire is solid core with a good amount of corrosion around it - also possibly part of the problem? (maybe just the photo??)
Fwiw mine looks like this..

I think the voltage regulator is faulty. (I saw a post on the 60 site showing the FSM test.) When tested it had continuity between terminals "F" and "L".
I'll report back after new VR is installed.
