Cim is now a chicken farmer. I'm hoping to buy the project off of him soon. LOL!

Do you have a thread going for your diesel 80?

I should be getting things going again now that parts finally made it through the Canada border. Weather is kinda nice now as well.

70 series parts from Canada, you say? Come get them @Mr Cimarron. It’s go time.

I kinda feel left out. :(

Dave, I bought two of almost everything for the 79… All you need is a cab and an 80 frame…add motor of choice....go!

And here comes the rain.

Finally got back to work this week. I had to take a break when the rona hit to prioritize other things.
I didn’t like my rad support so did some more work to it. I couldn’t find a intercooler that would fit with the rad support crossmember. Deleting it seemed the way to go. Everything is custom anyway.
I used sqaure tubing to make a rad mount and then welded into the support. Really strong now and gives me more option for IC. I will have to add some tabs for horn and grill but that’s seems easy enough.
Radiator goes in and out with no issues. It’s tight but same spacing as my 80.

Looks good, but why not use a mechanical fan? Looks like things are nicely aligned for it.

Eh. It wouldn’t fit in the 80 and haven’t had any heat issues so I just copied what I had. Although this is a smaller rad than 80 and one big fan with shroud rather than two fans without a shroud. We will see. I am sceptical about it.

More progress today. Welded in the right side floor pan. I went with the measure once, weld a lot method. As you can see I had to fill a lot. I still have to grind some more and fill in a few pin holes but I ran out of gas.
