What are the specs on the H? Is it worth turboing?

specs are:

Inline 6 IDI diesel
3576cc
92 hp oh yah!

Is it worth turboing??? to me yes...She's pretty doggy, but I'm not looking for a speedmonster. I think they just need a mild boost, under 10psi. I've been spending lots o time in the diesel section and researching. I'm getting the turbo for free and there really isn't a lot of work needed to get that turbo on there...It will be definitely an improvement thats for sure.

Ben-

I am really looking forward to this thing coming together, keep it up!

Well, if anything it's .1 liter bigger than my 6AT. ;)

Not much to report, I have begun daily driving it ;p

I've been on the search for unobtainium parts

Glowplugs...trying to figure out them out, not having much luck, by I'm still searchin!

Last night only did a few things...still cold as hell in the garage :frown:

Tightened up accel cable, wow, actually runs better now! go figure. Pulled the glowplug to get numbers off of it. Tightened up A LOT of bolts, nuts to stop rattling...

Tomorrow I'm going to get the "roll bar" in the back taken out...it's driving me crazy...tooo ugly! :D

I think I have the tires narrowed down to 255 85 R16 Trxxus I was pretty happy with them on my 80, so I'll try the skinny's on the cruiser.

The wife/kids everyone now has named him "Mater".....after mater on the movies cars... people!

here's a pic from a chilly CO morning...

Looking good. You're right, a quick and dirty paint job and losing the roll bar will go a loooong way to making that 45 easier on the eyes.

Keep it up.

k, not much happening again...jeez I'm sloooooooow....and money is tight! (yeah why did I get a 45 then???) lol

Got the "Poop Pipe Roll Bar" off...

and she looks MUCH MUCH better...I can't believe how ugly and distracting that thing was...lol I have a "toyota" logo to put on the the front grill (thanks Wadesters)

From the isolated location in your pictures, it looks like you are still too ashamed to be seen in public with that paint job...

You guys are all comedians today ;p

Last night "tinkered" for about 30 mins....

Put my "toyota" badge on, pulled the ramsey winch and then of course...most importantly painted the bezel...;p

I was looking for the PB Blaster and then saw this can of paint...and thought...hmmm that looks pretty close to the bezel color...why not...:D I'm going to try and get a piece of C-channel for the front bumper....maybe I'll take the box in the back out and the Jerry can holders...

she's looking more and more cruiserish...lol

I have a channel bumper here at the house if your interested. It isn't anything fancy, prepped for a winch, and I think I trimmed it a bit on the sides.

Let me know if you're interested.

Did a quick paint on the top just to see what she looks like. Spent a little time tightening up bolts... she rattles away!

just needs some OEM wheels...and well a lot of other stuff...that bezel and roof paint kinda tames the camo...kinda...

Well, in lifes little fun changes...it looks like I"m going to have to pass this cruiser on to someone else. :frown: It's just not going to work for a couple of reasons...and family definitely comes first.

I'd like to see someone on mud pick her up and fix her up...if anyone is interested in the HJ45...just let me know.

you can PM for more info.

thanks
Ben

Told you it needed a better paint job...

sorry to hear you have to thin the herd.

Sorry to hear it's not working out Ben. I know you waited a long time to pick this 45 up.

I sent you a PM. I hope it can stay in the area. ;)
