I understand your reply and THANK YOU, but did you need to modify the pull knob arm length or need to place some bends in the knob linkage? Which mounting point on the cut linkage picture did you attach it too? I see where you welded a connecting anchor piece above the original mount, is that where you connected too. Seems a bit of distance to the center of the dash where you relocated the knob to that's what I am having a problem understanding. Sorry for all the questions, but I am at whit's end trying to figure out how to keep the vent intact and get this dam heater in and not loosing my vent. I really don't want to strip it out vent cowl and put a block off plate in place. I appreciate any feed back you can provide.
Hello, when we modified for the Vintage Air, we had to modify the cross shaft…give it a bump to clear the AC. We also welded a new control arm to the cross shaft and instead of pulling to close the vent, it’s a push to close. And if I remember correctly, we had to shorten the push/pull rod. If you look closely at the pictures I had early in this tread, the new control arm is on the right, welded to the top of the original. I did this in 2017….so it’s been a while, I’ll see if I have more pictures and post if there is still an interest.
