Doing rust repair and am working in the area of where the B pillar would meet the floor, except mine is gone on that area. Does anyone know or have photos of what happens on the back side of the B pillar as it moves past the mid-bed area? Is it a square tube shape or a u-Shape? I’ve attached photos, this is the passenger side and I have it on a tip over jig so it’s difficult to get closer in. Thanks for any help

I had to repair that section as well, though mine was not quite as far gone as yours. Hopefully these pics help a little. I'm happy to try to answer any questions you may have.

The step is a square hollow tube made up of several pieces formed sheet metal. Mine was fairly rotted out on the bottom snd back side and on the inside towards the dash(diamond plate pic). I cut mine open from the bottom side of the tub. I was originally going to use a jeep cj bumper, but found a friend who had access to a heavy duty brake and he made a piece to my dimensions out of 10 gauge. I added gussets to it for strength. That location is very important, it's the main beam.
Here's some crappy pics
