60 housing stripped of mounts and tabs.Waiting on new perches but did a mock up with the old perches.Pinion set @ 15 degrees and 30" between perch mounts(outside end to end) so will outboard 3/4" each side:)

Didn't quite like some of the LC perches I have seen so I decide to mock my own.Just a spin off of a Ruff stuff perch I was looking at and really like.Two 5/8 G8 bolts will replace the hump side U bolt.Tight fit to clear the third:)

Looks good. What gauge material are you useing?

Will you be able to get a wrench on the bolt, with the thicker steel?

I like homemade stuff!
 
Thanks.3/8" for the top plate.It will also be welded to the pumpkin so the bolts/plate can not flex.I like homemade as well:)

That is exactly what I did on mine. I liked Ruff Stuffs idea so I found some metal and copied it. I did make mine a bit thicker than theirs. 1/2" plate on top and 5/16" on the side. Worked great, you will like it!
 
Running short on time I just ordered the Ruff Stuff perches.Nice material but I had to modifiy the s*** out of it to make it fit snug to the pumpkin ,should have made my own in the end.
Measured many,many times got everything where I wanted it and welded it up.Cut the grooves for the turn,will do that when the axle is mounted.Turned out well:)

Man, that does look nice. I see you have Miller. I've got a 15 year old 255. Your's looks like a newer version. Good machine.

Take some more pictures, when you do the cut and turn. That always fascinates me, that someone thought that up. On my old 40, we did a spring over, but no cut & turn. I drove it like that for years.:eek:

the welder looks a lot like my 175

i also drove my 40 for years with no cut and turn. not always necessary on a 40 because you usually flip the springs and everything kind of evens out. 55s, the axle is way to close.
