Very nice example - What year is it?

It may even be a composite [mutt]. I have seen other 'rebuilders' mix and match parts from multiple years.

I based my initial assertion on the horseshoe bracket on the primary throttle shaft responsible for raising the idle with the choke.

Just to note they didn’t sell me on it being a match for my year. They offered it and let me research. I said yes thinking I’d only need the insulator.

If you have an unmolested early air cleaner, you are really best off just getting the carburetor that belongs on there.

You can call me at the shop if you want to follow up with me; that’s how I roll.

@DaveRemisiewicz

You really would help yourself by buying a silver star (cheap) that allows you to post unlimited pictures... You will save 100x the cost of admission thru the help and knowledge offered on MUD.

A few pix of what you're dealing with, in the engine bay, will allow people to answer your questions much faster without having to drag info out of you, and most likely, never coming back to the thread... Also, as opposed to many many other vehicle forums, MUD is easy to post pix vs. having to use 3rd-party hosting crap which is a PITA now that photobucket makes you pay.

If you want to do it right, talk to Mark (65swb45). Check out his website, in his signature line, if you're unfamiliar with MUD Cruiser Gurus and/or new to Land Cruisers.

Good luck.

I left a message and I’ll call but I read some of your soapbox.

The lesson I tried to teach my children is similar to your third. I tried to teach them to love God, their neighbors and themselves as much as possible and that all people are their neighbors.

My petition for an additional quote on your list is, “Knowledge will, more than anything else, help create worldwide opportunity and end oppression. Because of this and despite its warts, the internet is the single greatest thing to happen to our planet. It gives me increased hope for the human race.” IM DAVE

I guess I'm missing some photos of your carburetor here ??? Also, I've not seen a 1971 with a power brake booster and tandem master cylinder, nor have a seen a 1971 with a throttle cable coming out the firewall like your later model cable is ??? .

Does this help?
