Woody, you got’a get that to the Roundup. I'm very interested in seeing that suspension setup first-hand. My offer still stands to get that old beat-up offset rear housing out of your way too :D . We don’t have anyone building that kind a stuff around here :princess:’s , I'd sure like to give it a shot but this stuff is way out of my league, but I'm trying to catch up.

might take ya up on the rear housing....

two pics from 11:30a this morning....DEFINITELY gonna get a double-front driveshaft to miss the tranny....an expense I was hoping to avoid, but am not gonna fight...

however, she's nice and flat underneath....pan is same level as the frame rails....

next: tranny mount bracketry....

Looks good Woody, definately can't wait to see the entire finished product.

2:45p...crossmember is fabbed up, just need to come up with a creative idea for the frame-rail side....

pretty tight on the front yoke....which is good....tube ends up in the same plane as the trranny pan...

Mine is pretty ugly, but functional. I wanted to be able to remove the whole crossmember easily. I used the AA transfer case frame side mounts, upside down. They are really just a 3x3 angle about an inch wide with a gusset boxing one side in. I can unbolt the crossmember and slide it out the back.

Don't laugh too hard now, I told you it was ugly. The frame is angled enough that the crossmember doesn't sit square. If you were to fab a part, take the into consideration.

Mine sits down futher because that 203 GRB is a big pig with a huge mounting plate.

crossmember mount option 1....don't like it, gonna ditch it...

buddy just emailed me, he used spring bushings/tubing on the crossmember, and a couple tabs welded to the frame.....I was considering the same idea, just not with the poly...another thot was with shock eyes (you KNOW I love to use those for projects....hehehe)

any thoughts?

You have a crappy Northern Accent.

Your Cruiser is a beat to s*** POS.

Your wife is too good for you.

Wait, did you want Cruiser criticism?

fawker

I expect no less outta you.... :flipoff2:

Woody,

First of all - AWESOME!!! Looking very SWEET!

Second - Stupid noob question:

In that first picture - what is supporting the rear of your truck? I'm getting ready to put my 55 springs in and am trying to figure out the best was to get the ass end in the air and release the tension on the springs.

BTW - found out today that I'm going to have to replace the flange cap on my ARB. Damn - one more call to Tim...

Good to see ya ditch first design, looks weak. :flipoff2:

I went with a poly bushing on each side of my crossmember and have 2 tabs on the frame like suggested. And for God's sakes man, plate the frame where you plan to weld the tabs to, this light weight s*** is out of hand.

did cruisers originally come with a tranny crossmember?

good, thought i'd lost mine for a minute

definitely better....now, for the frame side mounting...

installed....made some more tweaks to it, still gotta weld the frame plates and paint those, but will wait until the tranny is back out....
