Thanks Rick, you are correct, it should be a 'sticky' since this 70 series windshield question comes up often and sometimes with misinformation. The local Toyota dealer will order the part but it's $600 and non-returnable, therefore the correct part number is critical.

My 56111-60230 arrived today. It is just shy of 21 inches tall.

Ive been trying to get a xJ-7x series parts sticky going for some time now, but with little help from the Mods..???

pages like toydiy are great for part numbers, but with discription only its hard to tell exactually what it is there refering to....

What is the availability of the windshield frame for an 86 with the fold down? The next question would be if anyone has successfully replaced the surround and retained their current glass. Mine is in good shape. I have a good glass guy but if it is extremely susceptible to damage upon removal then I guess I will have to get the whole thing. My surround is very rusted at the bottom and I know at some point may give way.

Well, I ordered it from myself actually.:grinpimp:

The published list price is $653.30. I sell them for $489.97 local pick up. I do not ship out large pieces of glass. The freight is killer and the breakage is high.
In addition it is very difficult to get damage claims paid on glass.

Seems windscreens are the only thing we buy cheaper than you blokes.
I had one installed in my 80 series for roadworthy before I sold it, cost $200.00 kangaroo dollars was tinted. The wiper blade came partly out in very heavy rain and the steel end marked the glass.
Same cost for my Commodore Ute $200.00 tinted. Now I have to get the HJ75 done as the crack is getting longer.
Too many rocks thrown up on gravel roads. LOL.

I bet that was not a factory Toyota glass. We can get aftermarket windshields for 80s over here for around 200 bucks as well.

G'Day Dan, I don't think that Toyota here fit windscreens that I am aware of at all.
I think if you took your car there they would call in a mobile windscreen fitter.
I know here and it is a big dealership they get most gearbox/automatic work done outside also.
Forgot to say as your mate's windscreen wasn't an 60, 80 100 etc I thought that was all that was imported and that was all Toyota USA would stock. I asked here about parts for a 1PZ motor for a member here and was told by Toyota Australia does not stock them and would not order them in. cheers

AFAIK there is only 2 windscreens for the entire 7* range. Fixed and fold down frames.

They really do slug you guys for the glass, you can get Japanese screens here for $100 ,fit them yourself. I paid $195 fitted by some guy who came to my house.

Perfect. Thank you.
56111-60220 is fixed top, 56111-60230 is fold down.

plain gasket fixed is 56121-60120, fold down 56121-90K01

this should just be a sticky by itself.

fold downs are shorter in height than fixed

EDIT AGAIN

FWIW, 56111-60220 is the glas for the late model cab (HZJ79)

I ordered a 56121-60120 and it is not the right gasket. I think it is for the fold down windshield since it is about 1" to small on the height.

PS, anyone need a brand new one. I have one for sale.

Which gasket did you end up using?

The 90K01 is the correct W/S for the 60230 glass and the 60120 should be for the 60220 glass. I've got all 4 here in stock and will have to measure but I know we've sold/installed them in that configuration? I think :D

Don't ask me why I have now bought two 56111-60220 and it is for the HZJ79 cab 2009+ - non airbag.

The gasket is 1" too short compared to the one we removed from the truck. I ended up re-using the gasket that was in the truck.

I can measure the one we have here to compare. Not sure if it is the wrong gasket in the bag, but the part number on the bag is correct. Also that is the correct part number on the bag. Unless we have to stretch it 1" which according to my glass guy is not how it should fit.

According to TOYODIY if I enter the VIN for my cab, that is also the correct part number for the gasket for that cab.

FWIW, anyone want two craked 79 windhields? :)

The good thing is the truck is coming together nicely.
