So... stupid me for being too lazy to check and put the hood on, it interferes with the top of the intercooler radiator. Had no choice and cut the top core off (On a table saw!!!!), and back to the TIG welding shop. Let's see how many times I'll end up going there. The last project is the snorkel and that will wait until I have the body to figure out the best fit. It will be a 3 or 3.5" stainless pipe and powder coated black.

Yikes! I would need some 12 oz. courage to cut that up. Table saw did a nice job.
Had a carbide metal blade. 🤷‍♂️. No guts, no glory. 😀

Finally trying to place the heating system. A metal frame bolted to the frame will support the aluminum box of the heating system. I welded stubs with 8 mm nuts to the frame prior to painting.

Also got a front bumper from from 4x4labs. Luke is just an amazing guy. I’ll modify it a bit to add some integrated lighting.

Crate arriving from japan with the two quarter panels. Front pillars are here and all will be headed to the body shop.

On a side note, 4 oil pans for a 15BFT are shipping with some extra parts in this shipment. One of this will go into a 15BFT in my 60 series replacing a 13Bt that is getting tired.

Well, boxes arrived from Japan4x4. I can't say enough about Dave Stedman. Everything came packed perfectly - 2 quarter panels for the troopy, rocker panels and 4 sets for the 15BFTs so we can cover them from a Coaster configuration to a Landcruiser. One will be installed in my 60 replacing the tired 13Bt. It's my DD so I'll have to make priority. I'm tempted to post a blog on that conversion.

Wow, some serious rust going on. I wish they made 55 panels like that. That body will last longer than a new one when they get done with it.

While doing the15BFT conversion on my 60, the body shop has been super busy…

Note the new rear doors leaning against the wall. Front doors new as well taken off a mining 79 before ‘deployment’.

Now after the front is done, moving to the back of the body. There will be almost 20 body parts shipped from Japan. I should have bought a body from Saudia, probably would have been cheaper, but at this point, I am at "point of no return". NEVER REGRET!!! I think it will come out better than new. Epoxy protection everywhere.

So cool to know you can still buy all those body panels. Some young guys should be stashing these type of parts for the future.

Man, Kelly and Spenser are doing spectacular work. I heard the door hinges arrived.

:)
Hahaha. It's been sitting there for 24 months. I told Kelly that if by December 31 it's not done, I'm burning the shop down.
