Thanks.....
The bottom two in the photo look identical to the ones on my 77 Series however I don't have the top one.

What area does this one protect?

One would assume, perhaps incorrectly, that since the 70 Series frames are similar with the exception of length and the transmissions and transfer cases are generally located in the same areas on each vehicle, the skid plates would be consistent throughout the various 70 Series. However the OEM design seems to vary greatly between models. My assumption that one size fits all when it comes to skid plates is obviously wrong.

Indeed. A simple example is when Toyota expanded the engine bay to fit in the VDJ-V8. I don't know that they changed the frame rails, but they did change the front axle width by 100 mm, so that's an easy way to see that skid plates would not be similar across different versions of 70s.

I haven’t looked but ARB might have suitable skid plates.

anyone know if these are still made?
There is a slim chance @TRAIL TAILOR has the files to reproduce the Cruisin' Offroad 70 series skids.

Just to throw this out there: I've only just started looking at the skids, but the Cruisin' Offroad model doesn't look like a terribly difficult build for those those don't mind spending some time making templates and whom can also do some welding. 3/16" steel would be a forgiving and strong option to work with...and if someone has either existing, shareable templates or cut files, then it gets even easier.

I can measure the one I have if anyone is interested.
