I could really use an extension to the front for my centre console. Something with useful cupholders and a bin to toss camera gps ipod etc in. The trouble with all the commercially available plastic stuff is it interferes with the parking brake handle. Has anybody got a great solution that they've been dieing to share with the class?

Move You Parkbrake to the dash. I have seen it done and it was not all that hard. It really opens up alot of space. Are you going to keep the rear heater in?

I have a custom console in my 60. Wood construction and vinyl covered. You could make something pretty nice for your 70.

I had a factory toyota extension that also surrounded the shift levers in one LJ70. Not a huge cargo capacity but it obviously fitted perfect. Sorry no pics.

Haven't you heard??? Lowenbrau doesn't get wood. He told me so himself a long long time ago. ;)

youch!!

LOL!! i am sure you would know...

he did good with the drawer system...

In retrospect, that was a dumb thing to say on a first date.

I guess I could make one out of wood. I was hoping for something more pre made or at least a post with "this is how I made mine in ten minutes out of leftover tin foil"

The dash brake isn't a bad one but my dash is pretty cramped now with AM/FM radio, 2M radio, satellite radio, CB, aux switches and gauges.

BB have you got a snapshot of your interior?

I'm trying to remember if my German Spec LJ73 had that. I'll bet it did.

Now you're talking about the cellular anti-tumor hat, made in 10 minutes out of tin foil. Looks like a boat on your head...

Also helps with forgetfulness, causes by too much cellular radiation...

Yup, I still have to add a nice cup holder system to the front.

Oh and height of the console was made for "MY" elbow height. That's the best part about custom.

The lid opens up and the switches on the front operate the front seat heaters. :)

2 sheet metal screws and a tupperware?
Less than 10 minutes and waterproof, too :grinpimp:

Nice looking console man, what are those seats out of?

Dylan

They are stock 60 series seats. But I had foam added to make them more sculpted, more dished. I also had an adjustable lumbar installed, and seat heaters. Best of all they are stock. The material is vinyl. Leatherette type stuff. I imagine quite rugged. Wipes off easy. And tougher than leather. I was told it is the same kinda vinyl used in leather seats for the sides and back.

The handbrake is easily usable,. the console sits a little more to the right.

yah 3500 says so too.................ouch!

Canadian dollars.

Yup full truck. Rear got re done too, with a little more comfort in mind, with head rests added to the back seat.

that's just the sort of centre console i had in mind... something a bit beefier!
love those seats by the way! would like to upgrade my interior- not so fond on the early 90's colour scheme- off browns, grey with hint of reds!
