I do not see anyone budgeting funds for event T-shirts for the family!!! :) (Drivers get one w/registration) If we can swing it, perhaps a hoody option this year, as well. Maybe even hats again. Looks like you guys are really spending some coin. Great info for us, as @paflytyer mentioned. Thanks for sharing...

You should tally expenses for those of us who can't make it too. I'll have at least $500 in treating the depression that will come from missing it and probably $1000 in new stuff for the truck to console it.

+$fiddy for shirts
+$fiddy for camp fire scotch

No cost, s*** talkin n ribbin over CB, LOL

Our family will be doing a 4 week trip and will be hitting a few different areas but the goal was to make sure HIHs was in there!
So one could say a lot of what is being spent is not really with HIH but it could very well be the other way as this is a HIHs trip that we included other stuff!
Had said that I'm afraid to add it up!
For sure above $10K for everything like trailer purchase and baseline it, food, gas, hotel, entertainment, LC maintenance, small add ons, fridge……….
 :flush:

If I'm able to get in I really don't want to add it up. Let's just say tires and fridge for starters. That's enough for the mind to handle. Not good news from tax man adds to it but I'll just refinance to take care of that so...I keep going back to this Mark Twain quote...

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

If you're going to do anything to your vehicle do a good look over, possibly change some fluids, and add some AT tires. Most of these trails can be done with a completely stock Land Cruiser. There were plenty of stock vehicles that went last year. Some didn't even have AT tires.

Love it!

I picked up a new RTT, fridge, roof rack and sliders before last years event (not that any of this is needed buuuut) so it was about 5-6k.

I would def be in for a hoody if you offer them.

5x 295/75/16 KO2s - $1,500
4 Ironman Foam Cell Pro shocks - $740
860 springs and diff drop from Slee - ~$450
WKOR Sliders - $~800
CB set up - ~$250
Gas - ~$400
Food/Beer - ~$200
Maybe if I can swing it by then a Gamiviti rack and Doug Thorley headers

I'm sure I'm missing something, but my wallet hurts outlining all this, so I'm going to stop...

Where did you find the shocks that cheap?

Specifically for HIH5
RTT, 863 springs, CB/antenna/mount, compressor, sliders, sway bar bushings - $3000+

For HIH6
UCAs, 864 springs, steering rack, some PM - $2000+
Maybe some new Duratracs

Gas/food/booz - $500 each time

Mike at Bump it Offroad ordered them for me. $180 per, plus $20 shipping.

I had him ship them to his shop and I picked them up after work on Wednesday. I see you're in Louisiana, so shipping may be a little more for you.

@bluecruiser if you can find a supplier who carries hoodies for skinny 6'5" dudes with monkey arms, add one to my tally.

How could I forget beer?! Add another $200 on to my total...

Im planning on coming from OKC, so maybe I can hop on with the guys coming from ABQ at some point or meet up in Denver. Let me know if theres anyone else coming from the OK/ARK area or en route and we can set up a meet spot.
I'm here in OKC. My family went last year and had a great time. We took 12 days and camped and roamed before HIH. Might do some of the same this year just not as much time off. Thinking about going to Mesa Verda and maybe Moab before HIH this year. Not sure. Anyway, I am the proprietor of 51st Street Speakeasy and am here all the time. Stop by for a beer sometime and talk shop. - Mike

That is always the challenge...I'm about 6'4" and have had the same hoodie for like 3 years because it actually fits....and Phx isnt exactly hoodie central...

Before my injury, I could dunk on Chris like he had bricks for sneakers. I'm 5' 9" with sneakers and no hoodie.
