Sorry just saw this, I’ve been having a hard time separating the spud shaft from the pillow block shaft that goes through the front frame rail. I have heated it up and soaked it many times and they just won’t separate
I am pretty sure this assembly has a snap ring that holds it together. Not removing the snap ring first could result in destroying the pillow block. See the parts in this photo:

Thanks Adam I got the snap ring out it’s just where the two shafts go into each other that just don’t seem to be want to budge.

I have the spud shaft off the winch but where the spud shaft and pillow block shaft connect in between the frame rail I just can’t get to separate.

This end of the PTO shaft was seized when I got it. After removing the oil and grease, I soaked that end in a container of vinegar a couple weeks then was able to get it loose with a little heat.

The issue with spline on the pillow block is on the early PTO winches the piece that slipped over spline has much longer splined section. That mating splin section is in middle of the boxed section of the frame crossmember. Would disassemble the U joint and after soaking with something like Kroll for days and applying heat using a puller like one for ball joints. If that fails would cut the the U joint section of the front piece and slide out. It slide out the back. From just grind the outer down the length 180° apart. The pillow blocks are much harder to find. Would keep the section greased and exercise the winch regularly to keep it from rusting again. Might even consider shorting the spline section on the from piece to match the length Toyota used later.

Very interesting repair to the one winch. Obviously the front foot cracked which is common. The repair is much stronger than the original design.
