Kudo's to the wife for jumping on that deal!!

Nice truck and welcome to Mud.

And you need to give your wife a special thanks. Most wives compete with Landcruisers for attention.

Thanks everyone....I can't wait to get it home tomorrow and rinse the dust off....go through boxes....fun, fun, fun....

Well, at least the head isn't original. I'm pretty sure pre 67 had "siamese port" heads. Yours looks like the "normal" F style head. I could be mistaken though. Do you have a single or double barrel carb there? It looks like your intake is setup is possibly stock, but with custom headers of some sort. I haven't heard of headers with the siamese ports.

It looks all stock to me, except for the headers. Stock tranny (converted to floor shift) & transfer, stock head, intake, carb.

The air filter may be aftermarket? But I know there were a couple different ones, and I only had the oil bath setups.

Man I´ve seen some deals on this site but that takes the cake... nice nice nice.

Mark...

I have now paid the very inexpensive tuition for my continuing education via ih8mud.com......

Now....I'll continue my building of my new toy...
Having had it two weeks now I finished the painless wiring harness and to my suprise everything electrical works the way it should.....:)

I had a few items sandblasted and painted that werent addressed by the PO (brake, clutch, gas pedals, radiator support and shroud, grab handle, and bib hinge).
After fresh oil I cranked it up today...I'll need to rebuild the carb as it was uncovered the last four years....In a shop but still uncovered...
I'm on the hunt for an air filter assy and some other items for the dash so I'll do a wanted thread in the classifieds soon....
Thanks again for all the help...I'm enjoying it all...

couple pics over the last week...
dates on the pic are obviously bogus....;)

Its swell working on it for sure....I've got new brake lines and hoses on the way so maybe not this weekend but hopefully next weekend....I've got to get the gauge panel put back together and installed as well as the rest of the dash....
Tomorrow I'll get it cleaned up on the inside and buckle down the gas tank...maybe the seats too...
Hopefully some odd and end parts from ebay will show up.....:)

Good looking rig shreg! Love that yellow too...

ocdbeetle: First of all - Very nice score and welcome to the club.

In post #8 the second picture shows an FJ25 Engine Repair Manual. Would that be something you could copy or scan for others??? I have a 1962 FJ40 and it has many similarities with FJ25s.

That manual was with the rig while it was in the shop about 4 years ago...However, it should be in the shop still....I'll go to the dealership today and look for it....If its there I can certainly scan it for others and send it to you if you want it....
I've already had to go back to the shop and dig out a couple things I saw in earlier pictures that didnt get brought home....

This was in with the dash parts for my '65...when I look on SOR it shows it for '68-9/72....Does it not belong in my dash?

Yours looks like the 72-82 one. I'm fairly certain that doesn't belong anywhere under your dash.

Steering wheel support

This photo is a different orientation but it came out of my 65.

Rod

My 4wd lever has the same 3 holes and they were empty as well. If memory serves me right a pin on a chain was attached and you would insert it through the holes to hold the lever in the correct position. 2WD, 4 low or 4 high.

Thanks Rod...Wonder what the purpose of that bracket is? The only thing I could find to use it for is to hold the brake return spring which I still don't know where to hook.....:)

Can anyone tell me what the three remaining holes are for in the transfer lever bracket?

This is the best pic i can find of mine. They look unused.
