Picked this up off of the Mud classified section. PO did a terrrific job with this rig and Jen and i are tickled to get have had the opportunity to add it to our home.

I have been working on "restoring" a 69, and a 63 for several years.... I travel weekly for work and have not had any time to devote to getting one done myself. A few months back we started selling off parts to raise $$ for something completed we could enjoy. Boy, does this hit the mark. I still have many parts to sell but the majority of the big stuff is gone. In the meantime were going to putt around with this one and enjoy the summer cruisin the back roads.....

It arrived by transport Friday night. Its a 1966 completely restored with 57K miles on the original drive line. Runs and drives fantastic, its a very solid, clean truck!

Thanks Mike!!

Former PO, Mike.

Fantastic folks to deal with. Did a terrific job with explaining the truck. The rig has exceeded our expectations

Nice rig!. I'd put stock rims on her.

Is that a diamond plate drop gate? It looks well made.

Yes it is, here is a little closer look. Mike said a "Hot Rod" guy did all the body work. I have a set of doors for it that i am thinking of getting installed. Im also adding a set of Metal tech half doors i got last year for my 63....

nice old style doors with the 'bug catcher' wing windows...you will need a corrogated hard top to match your doors.

nice rig

did the PO's 'body guy' go over the holes for the tail 'barn doors' or is that a 75+ never rear tub?

I have a 72 Top i am contemplating adding. Would love an old school top though. As for the holes they are not there. Mike was not aware of any holes there from the get go. The body guy did smooth allot of things over and cover up some bolt locations. I think there are supposed to be stoppers on the hood for the windshield but they are gone as well.....

Still have to figure out seat belts too if anyone has suggestions in that regard.....

not all hoods had stopers and windshild hold downs...i bet yours never had them

if you use a newer hardtop you are going to need to do a bit of fabricating....above the door.

the later hard doors have weatherstripping all around the door...

the early doors have no stripping above the door...i think some people used a piece of tin to space out a piece of weather stripping and attached it to the hardtop so the top of the door seals...you could probably make something work rather easily if you are handy....as...it seams like you are :)

or....if you can find it replace the top door bow with an early style that has the weatherstiring incorperated into it

do you have any pics of the pass side?

Got pics? :)

Awesome!...... love the brown seats...they look so sharp.

I don't think you can. My '71 had the long seats, no room for a roll bar. Definately no room once I put the cage in.

So i have a choice. Jump seats or roll bar? I suppose i could add newer jumpies and just have them covered in the same stuff.......

no you can use the long seats....you need to use spacers...there is a thread or two here on mud....and ....i think somebody even produces them

if you can find them oem red seat belts would look great on that rig

i think you can just get normal black belts still from toyota....looks like you need belts all around....post up on mud for a complete set....sure you may find some around

edit: found the site...sor... for seat spacers

Specter Off-Road-Land Cruiser Parts - Page 244-Tube Bars

Its not too hard to make...if you want also

Thanks for the heads up. I was wondering what those were. :) the PO included these

We were thinking of using the new style belts. Out roll bar has the brackets for shoulder straps. Any thoughts on that?

well with the newer roll bar...yes you can use the newer seat belts with the sholder belt...or...the older....your choice.

newer belts would be easyer to find...i think minor modifications would occure....but....nothing major
