- 32" MT/R's. Otherwise general maintenance only so far. First to come will be full OME suspension and Bullbar.
- She's mainly used as argument propellant with my fiancee. She also sees the mountains for camping and snow as well as hopefully some moderate wheeling once repairs are completed. The rest of the time I piss her off by sitting in city traffic.

Could you post some more pics of that front bumper and some details about it?

That bumper was fabbed by a member of LSLC who (as I undestand it) no longer makes them. He also made some sliders and rear bumpers with swing-out tire carriers for some guys in the club; it was really some fine work and they are all solid as a rock. Looks like ARB quality. I lucked out. Here is a pic I shot for you this morning. I recently got pulled out of a ravine in Clayton, OK with those D-rings, and they were very well suited for the job. See attachment.

***edit: bumper was replaced with an ARB***

Hey dude .. awsome TLC .. let me know, where and how do you put the other alternator . ?

If you have a pic would be great .. !!!!! :D

Thanks

Thanks.

You can see more pics here http://www.pbase.com/haffinn/landcruiser

The extra alternator is located above the power steering pump. I made a bracket bolted onto the engine block and welded a track for the belt on the power steering pulley. The third battery is located behind the air-filter box.

I hope you can see something you like on the pics.

;)

Hey Nick,
Just curious, how do you like the shackle reversal + OME combo? I like the OME but 35's would be nice. I've read that SR gives a smoother ride, at least in FJ40's. Girlfriend likes a smoother ride, and I like the girlfriend, hence that's really why I'm asking.

Is body lean more noticeable now?

Could the MAF setup with extended shackles be done for $500? Thanks.
Gamarra

Gamarra,
The SR with OME setup is great, i am really happy with it. The ride is great except the rear shocks a springs are heavy duty and can sometimes be pretty rough. If u do get the setup go with 35's there is no rub except for a tiny bit in complete stuff, and they look alot better than 33's on it.

Nick

It's a project build for eventual DD and weekend light-duty trail cruiser

UPDATE: 9 years since originally posting (August 2005), the truck has been through some changes including de-rustification, addition of OME front and ALCAN rear springs, home fabricated front and rear bumpers, sliders, a sweet $50 Rustoleum paint job, a front-axle and brake rebuild, plus a few minor repairs.

Since purchase in 2005 while I was stationed at Ft. Knox, KY, this FJ60 moved with us to Kansas in 2008, Virginia 2009-2013, back to Kansas (2013) and now headed to Colorado later this summer (2014).
