Hi! I just bought this baby and its my first 4x4 with attended use only at work and offroad. It spent 10 years in a barn but was welded back to life. Lift is 2-4" below what it has been, therefore I immediately ordered a full EMU-kit for the front. Propably end up doing rear end also. Ridicuously expensive low maintenance car 🙂

1. Year and model of vehicle: 1982 HJ60 manual 24 volt spec
2. Name of owner: Antti
3. Name of vehicle (optional): Many names but 'Crawler' is beginning to settle.
4. Mileage on the truck odometer: Past 600000 km, some 400000? miles
5. Road legal improvements: Unidentified large Garrett /w wastegate @0,5 bar, 33" tyres, some lift and PTO winch (gone). 3 seats and a fixed vise (local vehicle tax peculiarities). Rear with helper coil springs. 2H also has dump valve and custom exhaust, internals unknown. Pulls great, too much? 😅
6. How you use the truck: For working and hunting, hauling tools and stuff. Some adventures will propably appear. I'll put in some new gauges, glow plugs, injectors and re-do some electrics. Is this a keeper I don't know, but its so much fun...☺️
7. Why is the stock low gear always too fast........

Desmogged, little lift, roof rack, front bumper with winch.

Got a deal from a good friend I absolutely could not say no to. Ole girl has been rode much in the past six years so working on getting the neglect out of her. Did already changed the oil pan gasket and fixed the exhaust. Have everything to redo the front end this weekend. Been a jeep guy but I'm already in love with this thing.

An informal registry for FJ60’s, BJ60’s, and HJ60’s of all types – yes. 61’s and 62’s included… This will be a sticky thread.

Rules of order – ONLY ONE post per vehicle – no comments on the thread or you will have me editing – which resembles work, to which I am averse.

What I would like you all to post… and please keep it brief, OK?

1985 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60
2. Name of owner:
 Gabriel
3. Name of vehicle:
Bodhi Wagon aka Bodhi Yoti
4. odometer:
 200,363
5. Mods: Old Man Emu suspension, 33” BFG KO2. Otherwise largely stoxk.

Recently purchased after a long search. It’ll be a weekend driver, road trip truck, dog hauler, and excuse to take the long way home. The goal is to preserve it, sort out the small issues, and keep it on the road for another 40 years rather than turn it into a show truck.

ARB drawers added years ago
Dual battery system: The summer 2017 issue of Overland Journal did a study of dual battery systems; they did not like the National Luna system for the same the reasons I did not like it, instead they recommended the Intelligent Battery System
Which is now installed and it works great.
Chrome: For top-quality chrome plating of new car wheels in the U.S., a few companies are widely recognized for excellence:
• California Chrome Wheel (California) – Famous for their triple-plating process (copper, nickel, chrome) and very high-end finish. (I used them to chrome plate my new wheels from Toyota, installed Dec 2025.)
