did you fix your seat belt problem
Hey sorry just saw your question.. Yes I was able to fix it by cleaning the belts thoroughly with one of those ebay nozzles. Took quite a bit to clean all the gunk out of the belt itself but has been working great since.

So been a bit since I have done an update. Not much has been really going on since this year has been wrought with family issues.
But I did get some goodies for Christmas. Pics will come when light is better and I can get time to install everything.

I ended up ordering a upper console ScanGaugeII mount from @BenCC along with the Mk27 mic mount for one of the switch blanks. Then when I got that he ended up sending me out a finalized version of the cupholder since I have been running the prototype that he and I originally worked together on. This last week I was able to pop the ScanGauge console, mic and new cupholders in while I had a quick minute.

But tonight I FINALLY got my ScanGaugeII that I purchased a few weeks back but apparently picked the "ship whenever" setting so it was like two weeks for me to get it! LOL
The body of the scangauge is in now and but I have not wired everything as of yet. It is freaking cold out and since I do not have a garage anymore I gotta do stuff like this when I have a bit of light and it is warm(er) out.

However, I didn't realize how tight the tolerance Ben had made on the scangauge was, literally a friction fit!!! Thing pushed in nice and tight and I thought I might be able to pull back out (just seeing what it would look like) only to realize that it wasn't going to budge!!

Got timing belt, water pump kit coming from @cruiseroutfit along with a t-stat as I have no records of the service being done. Figure I will handle that stuff now at 203k. That should be on the way and have a club member that is an ex Toyota Tech who has offered up his time to do the install for me in his heated shop. Gotta love that!

If you really want to get it out, try to heat it up a little bit with hairdryer. Only a little bit. Don’t melt the plastic haha.
Nah I couldn't take it and wasn't doing anything special so I went through and hooked it all up and got it working. Now got to go through all the settings to calibrate everything but started snowing and wanted to eat dinner. She is in there nice and tight!

So here is @BenCC upper console without the ScanGauge ii installed but with the Mk27 mic adapter

Here is the original prototype cupholder in spot (note the pen holder and drivers side holder being larger)

And here is the finalized version installed. I felt like this one was much easier to install and fits was super tight but not so tight it won't come out again.

Buddy and his wife recently purchased an 04 built Jeep Grand Cherokee (WJ) for an absolute steal. I have been trying to get him to get a Land Cruiser for years but nothing has come up that he was able to grab. This WJ is definitely purpose built for overlanding, which is what they wanted, and honestly he couldn't have built it at shop cost (in-laws own a truck accessories shop) so I can't fault him. Hell, it has gotten me and them outta the house the last few weekends for fun runs locally as he learns the rig.

Today we did a short run from Carson City to Virginia City just to play and get out. Nothing hard, couple icy spots from snow melt and watersheds that I flipped on the center diff lock "just in-case" but really was just fun to get out. The in-laws that have a fully built Wrangler that they use for offroading ended up joining too.

Was kinda funny. At the end we hit the local coffee roaster for a quick warm-up before we headed home and were all chatting. The FIL ended up saying "I was really impressed. That Land Cruiser did a lot better than I thought it would." I had a quick laugh and asked him why he thought it wouldn't? It's a Land Cruiser. His justification was the "well it was when they started wussifying them." Which yeah, they started becoming more "LUXURY" vehicles in the 2000s but still incredibly capable vehicles. Can't wait to go out again with them and do some more challenging stuff and have him watch Alita just walk right up it.

So thanks to the help of a local club member, Alita now has had the TB/WP service done with a new t-stat as well. Thanks again @reklund5
Funny enough, I didn't think to take a picture of the timing belt that came out but he said that it definitely could have been the factory belt. Someone has been in there but belt was a tooth off on drivers side and was quite worn.

Couple other things he found while in there but that stuff will have to wait for the moment to allow funds to rebuild. Alita will be getting new fan shroud, fan bracket and serpentine belt in the near future. New inner and outer TREs are in order as well as I noticed drivers side is leaking now, no longer just a slight seepage.

So 203,467 miles on the belt if it was original (and more actually depending on how long the 285/75r16 have been on there). And actually in the pics you can see just how cracked the belt was. Wondering now if anything will change power/mpg wise since the belt was a tooth off. Never had any lack of power for me and mpgs were about what I expected.

Well did some running around and playing today. Idle is definitely smoother and even sounds slightly different when I started it up this morning (with remote start). Cold idle just had a different note to it, hard to explain. Sitting at stop signs and lights, definitely feels smoother and can't really tell she is idling.

Played in the dirt a little while scouting some trails and then pressure washed underside and front of engine to makes sure I am not seeing any leaks. At this point, there is nothing so far.

So question for everyone that is running the ScanGauge ii and monitoring AVG fuel usage. Does yours reset and vary still after multiple fill-ups?
I guess I figured that after a few registered fill-ups the AVG would hold constant but now that I have 3 full fill-ups and one partial I am still finding that the AVG is not persistent?
So basically, every time I jump in the truck it resets and was hoping that I could see a long range consistent average.

Well Alita has thrown her first code.... thanks to the ScanGauge ii I am getting a P0171.
Have replaced the air filter
Have cleaned the MAF
Have cleaned the MAF connectors and used dielectric grease on connector

So she is still throwing the code every few hours after clearing. Tomorrow when I am at the house and have access to my tools I will pull the engine cover off to see if I have a busted vacuum line somewhere. After that, if I don't find anything FUN and easy it will be going through the process of elimination.

P0171 I believe refers to a “lean” fuel-to-air mixture in the combustion chamber. It can be as simple as fuel pump or fuel filter, since you mentioned the air mixture side (maf). You may also want to also check/service/clean the throttle body. Another area could be your coil packs and/or your injectors (either clogged) that may need refurbishing or replace with a bnew part. I would check the spark plugs last..

Yeah doing some research it seems that P0171 can be a whole lot of things. Could be Bank 2 O2 sensor, could be vacuum line, could be MAF going bad, could be air filter, could be coil pack, could be, could be, could be.....

So I will start with the easy stuff, then progressively work down the line. Crappy part is that I am planning to head to southern Utah this weekend. Truck doesn't go into limp mode while driving with the code, so I will clear as necessary and not plan for anything other than freeway driving.

That’s bummer. Actually the p0171 is not that complicated, it’s just sooo labor-intensive. With enough time in hand I’m confident you can get this fixed. But I feel you, really can be bothersome if there’s an unwanted light there in the dash.

Right, and not having a garage or all my tools at the moment makes for things being a bit difficult to work on. Just bad timing on top of that too with the trip this weekend. Oh well.

Last night I finally got a chance to play with things a bit. No apparent broken or badly aged vacuum lines that would make for a vacuum leak.
Pulled out the laptop and ran Techstream and came up with a freeze frame stating "P0171 - Fuel Trim too lean" so not sure if this means that the MAF is going out or if that is more to do with injectors or coils. No noted misfires or anything like that that I have been able to see but Techstream wasn't wanting to play nice and kept crashing on me (v13.00) when I could try to pull up the monitors.

Since I am going on a trip starting tomorrow and I will have to fill up the tank, I will throw a can of seafoam in the tank to see if possibly one of the injectors is dirty/bad. Trying to think if there was anything that happened with regards to changes and the only thing that comes to mind is that I need to change the oil (doing tonight) and I filled up at the local Costco, which I almost never do. Unless Costco got a bad batch of gas, I have never had any issues with their fuel when I have filled up there.

I once got a tank of bad gas in my Tacoma and ended up replacing the fuel filter. When I told my mechanic where I had bought gas he told me their tanks were old and he told customers not to use that station because of the problems from it. Good luck with the search.

Yeah I will start with low hanging fruit as I go through things. Start with the MAF seeing as I cannot see any vacuum lines that seem to be a culprit. From there will investigate the Bank 1 O2 sensors and like replace first as from some reading that seems to be the harder of the two to handle. After that I will tackle things like fuel filter, injectors and so on but hopefully it is something easy like the MAF or O2 sensor.
