Great Engines. GM used to have them assemble the original ZR-1's in the late 80's, I think.

Absolutley. For those who don't know, they are based on GM engines but rods, bearings, etc are heavier duty. These engines are designed to run reliably at high RPM for hours on end. It's the way GM engines should have been built . Nice truck!

It was either the truck or the boat motor. Motor has a buyer and its going back to the ocean. Truck is getting a normal transplant now and staying in Portland.

That's a good compromise if it means you get to keep the truck. It is a great motor but more than it really needs. A simple 5.3l will still make for a great vehicle.
