Those engines have to withstand single-speed boat transmissions that run the RPMs up and hold them for extended periods, followed by long periods of idle. I would GUESS they would be very solid :)

Absolutley. For those who don't know, they are based on GM engines but rods, bearings, etc are heavier duty. These engines are designed to run reliably at high RPM for hours on end. It's the way GM engines should have been built ;). Nice truck!
 
This thing is SWEET! If I was doing this over again I would entertain buying a rig like this over building a newer one myself. But alas that's not the way things happen. ;) GLWS!

It was either the truck or the boat motor. Motor has a buyer and its going back to the ocean. Truck is getting a normal transplant now and staying in Portland.
