So, if one was thinking about rebuilding a 1FZ-FE (1996-80 series with the stock auto transmission) and wanted to go with the H151...

1. is it possible to retain the stock full time transfer case (would likely rebuild just because if that helps)?
2. how much computer issues to sort out for this whole thing?

Thanks! Somewhat local to you in upper east TN.
You can keep the full time case, although not sure why you wouldn't want to go to part time. They are push button lock actuated and then you could get better fuel economy in 2wd when you don't need 4wd!

No idea on the computer. I don't deal in anything ECU based for rebuilds. But its a manual. Not sure what computer issues there would be???

Computer issues being the stock ECM or TCU that would be looking for any signal from the now missing auto transmission. There may not be much, I really don't know.

Do you offer 1FZ-FE rebuild service? PM me if needed rather than derailing your sale thread.

Thanks!

Not to hijack, but seeing that Scott doesn’t offer an ECU for the manual transmission , I have one that will be offered up soon. It’s part of a package of parts that I need to sort through.
