I need a frame to replace the one on my 84' RHD BJ45.

I am interested in any version of a 45 frame be it SWB LWB L or RHD but it needs to be in good condition.

PM me or post up if you have or know of one available.

I am willing to ship from just about anywhere for the right deal.

I am located in northern KY USA.

does cruiserparts.net still have there's?

I called crusierparts cruiser solutions spector and TLC... no dice.

And aqualu is 3500$ to my door with fab work required which isn' too big a deal but I have zero time for that. I could swap a frame easy enough but a larger scale project i.e. can o worms isn't in my future.

I have a 1979 HJ45 Troopy and a 1981 FJ45 Troopy near Portland, Oregon that I would consider parting out if the price was right. Can assit with transport etc.

Sorry never pulled them apart to look. What years will work? I can always find something to ship to NC as I am packing a container soon. Not sure if you have that much time.

I think the easiest way to differentiate the frame types is from the spring hangers. The older style frames and body mounts use the smaller spring hanger pins. I think the switch was made in manufacturing in 8/1980. The quickie way to tell if it's old style/new style is to check the front mounting points for the rear springs. The old style used a hefty cast iron mount. The newer style uses a stamped steel arm for the mount.

I bought a 1982 Troopy body for the frame thinking I could stick it under my 1980 HJ45 Troopy. It was easier to fix my rusted frame than deal with the conversion process. I just sold that 1982 body/frame a couple of weeks ago to a guy in Vermont.

That's certainly fixable. There's someone here on Mud that makes those frame bracket parts. I think awl_TEQ makes them. You should be able to grind/drill the factory rivets and bolt in the replacement piece. Won't even require a donor frame.

Real steel doesnt make anything for a 45, the other 2 are for 40 frames ive looked into that also just a heads up

From Reel Steel's home page:
"PLEASE NOTE: if you need something fabricated to help complete your project and it’s not listed below, please call us at (847) 224-3408. It’s likely we can make it for you!"

Of someone is making that brace for a 40 series frame they have the equipment and skills to make one for a 45. All they need is the rusted part to copy. Cruiser Solutions fabricates complete 45 series frames. I think they might be able to make a replacement brace.

I suspect it will be easier to have one fabricated than it will be to source a complete good frame. If he were in AU it might be a different situation.
