Update: I have improved upon the vacuum tank by adding the rib detail and changing how the ends are welded on. Here are a couple of pics showing two tanks prior to full weld - just tacked together.

Dang

What fine work, when I replace my 78 sill next spring I will be in contact with you.

Dwight

just astounding work

 Always here to help

This makes me want to buy an LPB just to assemble one of your beds on it. Nice work. PM me a shipping price for one of your early rear sills. Can I get one with the soft top tailgate hinge captured nuts and no tire carrier nuts? Its for an FJ25.

Hey why did the stock air tank have that bracket in the middle ????

Fox - if we can hash out some dimensions I'd be happy to.

I believe you are reffering to the "baffle" inside the vacuum tank - I'd say it is for strength to prevent collapse

A while ago a friend needed to replace the rear end of a 79-84 40 frame so I made up these components. While I was at it I made the spare set shown here - currently for sale.

Edit: added prices so I don't keep forgeting

Frame Gussets - $156.25/set
Frame rear member = $306.25
Shackle plates – $112.50/set
Frame ends – $112.50/set

These parts are shown before any detail welding is done hence the tape holding in a piece.

There is one minor error on the assembly and that is the mounting holes for the bumperettes are a little oversized. The sample I was given to copy had been drilled out by some PO - nothing a flat washer can't fix

These parts are available separately of course but you could replace everything aft of the rear axle hump in the frame. Well, everything but the spring perch which I don't make.

The last foot of the frame rails - they have a built in offset fish plate for welding

Wow that looks so much like the rear sill on my 78 FJ40...are they the same ??

Not sure. But they are all very similar in design. Remember the 79-84 has a totally different sill design than earlier models and that includes the frame to body mounts shown above.

edit - what month 78 is yours...... maybe it is the same as yours

Hi

I would be interested in a rear sill if it fits my 1980 HJ45, do you know?
And any idea what shipping to Denmark would be?

Thanks!

Do you have any photos of your sill from under the truck? I don't know if they are at all similar to the 40 series trucks.

There's not much left there :-)

However I think it's the same, but maybe somebody else could chime in?

Otherwise I will ask the question in the 45 section.

yeah - I'd have to defer to someone else's knowledge there as I have never even seen a Troopy in person. Wouldn't surprise me if it was the same though.

If the troopy is the troop carrier then it is identical. Same with my 44.

Can you PM me a price for the rear crossmember and frame supports? My frame parts are fine so I wouldn't need the frame extender thingies.

Thanks!

K

PM me with a price for the left and right frame braces. Moocho Thanks...

Your work is frickin outstanding!
