As you can see, it is sometimes difficult to get a straight answer
To the best of my knowledge - from published sources - there were approximately 74,500 Land Cruisers manufactured in 1997 worldwide. Of those, approximately 11,500 were delivered to the U.S. (may include Canada, but not sure).
There were three models in the U.S. in 1997, the standard production model, the Collectors Edition, and the 40th Anniversary Edition. I have never seen the statistics of how many of each were made, but you can at least derive an approximation of the total number of 40th's from this.

No LCs officially sold in Canada. LX 450 made it there -- and from what I'm told all of them in Canada have OEM lockers !!!!
