Hi Kevin, I have been reading your posts and looking at your work. I was wondering if you have any available, or have started making parts again? I really need a sill for a 1964 FJ40. If you are not currently making parts do you recommend another dealer? Do you have any experience with Cool Cruisers? I see they have some body panels. I would really like to find a reliable and trustworthy supplier as I just recovered my FJ from a guy who had my cruiser for 9 months, said he was almost finished restoring it, he has 5K of my money, and come to find out he has been lying to me. No work has been done and it is in worse condition than when I gave it to him. I have now decided to take on the task of restoration myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Kevin,
Your name came up when I was asking around about repairing the rusted bottom of the front doors for a '78 40.
I did not see any mention of these pieces in this thread, but I thought I would check and see if this was a piece you make currently, or maybe plan on making?
It seems like folks are really happy with your products, so that is always a good sign!
Thanks,
No, but I did patch my own doors. That is prolly where they saw it. Pacol or CCOT might have something or you can do like GusB and I did and hammer out some patches

Thanks man. My skills are not well suited to making patch panels on par with yours.
Is Pacol = Real Steel?
I got some mixed reviews on the CCOT panels.
Thanks again!
I'm looking for a set of your 40 series 3B engine mount brackets (that bolt to the frame). If you have a set or plan on making some in the future it would be appreciated. Thanks.
Well, I promised myself I would never buy anything from Mr. McClung again, but I did it so I deserve all that I get.
I bought a set of wheel well supports from CCOT, as I could not find them anywhere else. The bill came to $160.19 with shipping from Texas to Santa Fe. When I received the Paypal bill from Cindy it said they had "corrected" my shipping, and now wanted $174.60 - or $24.89 shipping from Texas to Santa Fe. This seems a bit steep, but that aside it is far more than they originally quoted me in my invoice. I asked for clarification, but have yet to hear a peep from them.
Sometimes I feel like I never learn. Why did I go back to CCOT and expect a different result?! Ah well. I just hope the quality is better than the fenders I once bought from Steve McClung and wound up throwing away after being told by him that I shouldn't be buying Cruiser parts if I didn't know how to "make things fit".
I sure wish you made these! Everything I have gotten from you is absolutely perfect.
I bought the same part from them last winter for the 42. The ones I got were fine although they have no holes for welding or any bolt holes for the roll bar or any captured nuts. All of which is for the better as the part needs to be fit to each application.
As for service from CCOT.... your story is on par. At least they have them. 4WheelAuto told me the stock design sucked and I they suggested I just make up some angle iron brackets. Fine for a trail rig but not a resto.
As for me making them.... I can't bend the original profile unless I fab up a custom tool, which I can do but don't have the time for in the foreseeable future.
I suggest you take a deep breath and count to 10.... 1... 2.... 3.....................
While I'm here in this thread I may as well mention I will be making some of the 3B frame brackets for the 40 series. These go between the motor mounts and the frame and are welded or bolted to the frame as you see fit. You cut the 2F mounts off.
I have had quite a few people looking for these over the last few weeks and two just today. It will be at least 6 weeks before I get to them with my current work load and promised list.
I am...
finishing the second to last 45 bed assembly
making a few headache racks
shipping that bed/rack and a gate to VT
making several snorkels
making a couple of early sills
and prolly something else I forgot......
