TC - sorry for the slow reply. Been busy and I had to climb up on top of a 12' rack to check stock. No excuse, I know

I have two sills in stock and both are what I refer to as L-MID ( or late middle years ). That means they have the later style tire carrier mounting holes so they are not the E-MID ( earlier middle years ) style that you need.

I won't be building any sills for a couple months at least while I catch up on various commitments. I am happy to make one for you if you can wait.

FYI - My own personal reference guide for sills:

E/74 - this is "early" and up to 12/1974 style sill (very very early might not fit)
E-MID - this is the sill for 01/1975 to 08/1976
L-MID - this is the sill for 09/1976 to 12/1978
LATE - this would be the sill for the remainder of production dates from 01/1979 onward.

The MID, or middle years, are not always correct when you have a unit from the first or last month so a verification would be wise before I ship one.

Would I be able to use an L-MID sill if I was to swap out my tire carrier for the tube style carrier? Is that the only difference?

Yes. But that seems un-necessary. There are other vendors and if you have time I will be making more n a couple months.

No problem on my end. I was Going in that direction anyway. What is the cost of the sill shipped to business address at 30022?

That would be $200 for the sill and cover plus shipping of $58.00. It will take me a week to weld it up due to current work load. Shoulda mentioned that before. I don't weld them till they are ordered but I have all the parts ready and it takes just an hour or so.

Interested in wheel wells for a 77 (9/76).

Rope, I'm sorry I can't help you. I have not started to produce the wheel wells for the 40's yet. I made a couple sets several years ago but they were pretty rough and I haven't re-visited the design yet. I don't foresee myself trying them again for a year or more.

I will be following this thread, I do need to fix my wells, I am interested. You seem to be the only fabricator that is making 40 stuff that is not one off and carrying the price that goes with it. The wells on the market seem to need quite a bit of work for fit, from what I have been reading. Thank you for your reply.

Any dual battery trays available? Or single battery trays for a 74 fj40?

Kevin,

Saw your post man, you do some mighty fine work and I think you would definitely take a corner of the market if your thoughts were put into motion!

Is this your website? They are sold out of the fj40 battery trays..

No, not my website. Their pricing is as good as I can do.

No, sorry. I'm out of stock for a few months here.

Update:

I am out of stock on everything and cannot make more for a few months. I am busy with my full 45 bed assemblies. After that I will be working on my own build through the summer.

I also have to reorganize my manufacturing model. I have to transfer the process from doing it all myself to using my employer to do the work rather than me. I will essentially become a customer of my employer and they will become my supplier. When that happens I will have stock all the time because I won't be doing all the work myself. I will still be involved due to my position as plant manager, however I won't physically be doing the work. This also means prices will have to rise because I will be paying shop rate for the work (well, paying more than the nothing I pay myself anyway). Quality will rise/ be more consistent also because I won't be making one, two pieces at a time but rather 10-20 pcs and shelving them.

This new arrangement will give me back nearly all my free time for the family and wheeling when my build is done.

Kevin

Awesome Kevin! I am starting my rebuild this fall and have a long list for you!
