Any particular battery you guys run in the 40? Mainly worried about the fit.

The PO of my cruiser had a battery that was too big and didn't sit in the tray. I just swapped it out with the one in the 62 and both fit better. Not sure of the technical classification of the battery size.

Wish I could help but my battery is in a fabbed tray and not in the original location.......

About thru with Srob's rig......for now. Stock tank is in, new seat cradle to accept the tank along with twin sticks. Bodean and myself tried to bend /modify the original shifter to work with the tank to no avail. Harness mounts are done. Tuffy is in. Rear seat mounts built and installed. Cut the rear of the cage off and built new rear section to make it a family cage. Fabbed an adapter on the radiator to accept a new fan, old one had 3 blades missing. Here are a few shots.

I run an interstate I got from Tolleson. Maybe he will chime in on which one it is. Had an optima in there for years. Whatever fits will work fine unless you are running a winch and some extra stuff.

Diehard Gold size 24F in my 40. Now 7+ years old and has as much juice as it did on day 1.

My winch is being repaired so I haven't worried what battery is in there. What do I need for a winch and a huge stereo. Would an interstate or yellow optima work?

Mine runs my winch and stereo so you should be fine. Unless you spend an hour winching a stock FJ Cruiser on Can Opener you should be fine with the Interstate mentioned above. (Ask me how I know).
