I won't be learning on this one. It has to be farmed out since the crawl is 10 days away and I am swamped with work and buying new house. I could just keep putting fluid in it.

You can that.

Rear brakes mostly don't work on old cruisers anyway.

Even when adjusted and working correctly the rear brakes only provide about 30% of the total effort. The good and bad of older Cruiser drum brakes is that there are two wheel cylinders per wheel. This set up makes them hard to adjust properly and also makes them work quite well when set up right. I would not recommend replacing rear drum brakes that are in working order with a disc set up but if your system has issues the cost to repair the stock system can be used to upgrade to a disc set up.

Ok so another bump in the road to starting the engine: no igniter or resistor to be found anywhere in my stack-o-stuff.

A little research tells me oem stuff here is rare and expensive. Anybody got any experience with the Pertronix stuff?

Lots of questions today.

What mounts here? I'm assuming something to do with power steering, if my truck had been equipped?

Thx. Def the windshield wiper motor.

Other piece has to be the charcoal canister. Since I know zero about how this is hooked up, will set it aside until I start working with the gas tank, fuel lines, etc.

Thx for the quick replies and for putting up with my serious lack of knowledge.

Smog pump original location.

Anyone have a vortec using an H41 with AA bellhousing? I can't figure out where to put any additional motor mounts...its way too tipy with just the two on the block.
