Well Bobby saw us today and this is what we found out.

Well there was some plate not on the weber carb that he said would
cause the gas to "boil" ?!? Just happen to have the old one in the box of shush parts, so we bolted that on there and it runs a lot better. Still needs different second stage jets though so the top end speed is not what it should be.

He took if for a test drive and about had a heart attack. I thought all 40s steer like you have a death wish, but he said it was unsafe and not normal. So a new steering box is in my near future. Going to upgrade to a four turn from the three turn box. (anybody know what that means?) It also has two steering dampners, one which does not extend far enough which is why turning radius is messed up turning left. Chris pointed that out to me at superlift. Thanks Chris!

It has multiple leaks. Transfer case, clutch, and rear main seal. All will be taken care of when we install the 4:1 Orion which apparently Bobby can build and install. He also builds family gages installed for around 1100 bucks.

I agree. Purchase price was good. Gremlins are normal.

4 turn means the steering takes 4 turns, lock to lock. Yours takes 3. 4 makes is safer as if you jerk the wheel, it won't jerk it out of your hand.

Maybe. If the steering stabilizer is wrong or the pitman arm is too short, you won't get it right ever.

I do remember but doesn't Georg live in Cali? I am afraid logistic would be hard between him being in Cali and me being on the road 12-15 days a month.
Does the orion get rebuilt in my transfer case housing? Does it then get sent back
to me? Will the orion go back into the same support holes and brackets as original so there is no fabbing to do?

Please let me know because I am about to do set this up in the next week so I can be ready for the crawl!

Bobby also has a family cage built and installed for 1100 but it does not attach to frame. Do all of CLC family cages attach to frame?

New, stronger case with a little extra room for the larger gears. It uses a few parts from your old case but is 95% new parts. Get Georg to build it.

I can run old transfer case, then when Orion gets here swap them out? I guess Bobby could do install of Orion. That is what has me concerned. I get this $2000+ package then it sits since I am a crappy mechanic.

You could probably get Georg to source the parts needed from your case so that you have minimal down time but will cost a few extra $$. It is a direct bolt in for your old case, driveshafts the same lengths and all. Setting up these Orion's is a bit tricky to get them where they don't pop out of gear. Georg has it all figured out and does a great job.

Let Bobby pull your case and send Georg the necessary bits. Have Georg send the case back to Bobby for the install. That way Bobby can take care of any other issues like leaks, parking brake, etc for you.

Yes, tie the cage in to the frame at least three palces per side for maximum safety.

Georg will build case and send it to you. If you would like twin sticks with shipping will be around 2600-2700.00$$ to your door. With a single stick it is around 2300-2400.00$ Your old case sent to him will save you about 100-150.00$$(not worth it in my book) cause it will cost you to ship it to cali on top of that. IIRC the orion kit was around 1500.00 to buy just the parts not including building the case. And yes the thought crossed my mind to do it my self!! But after talking to the WISE MEN of CottonLand Goerg built it. I am very happy with it!
Talk to Georg to confirm prices but they should be close.

I would let the local guy build it. Love Georg. His work and the cleanliness of his work it unparallelled. That said, if you have issues your local guy built it, he will make it right.

Pop the hood. Let it cool. Has to be something to do with it getting hot. If you have extra water, use some to cool anything that is real hot.
